Description
A Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), gives chase after an Osprey (Pandion haliaetus), in order to steal its fish. This dogfight lasted for almost five minutes before the Osprey decided to drop his precious cargo because the Golden Eagle was becoming more aggressive. The Osprey barrel rolled its body, and used the force of the spin to toss the fish away from him. The Eagle immediately broke off the chase, and turned to catch the fish before it hit the ground. The Eagle then left, and the Osprey went back to his fishing hole. It is unbelievable the maneuverability of these magnificent birds. In this photo you can see the Eagle's mouth is wide open as it warns the Osprey, and the fish can clearly be seen in the Osprey's talons. How delightful to be in a place and time to witness this!Related content

Thank you so much! It all seems so dramatic until you realise that the eagle looks like a rabbit because of its wingtip feathers!

That is true, I imagine that he gave up fairly easy because of his situation. He lives right by a fish farm that raises trout for commercial use. He has a target rich environment! (sidenote: The eagle has been nicknamed the bunny bird because of how his winglets positioned about his head like rabbit ears). I still can't look at this picture without giggling.

First thought that came to my mind was : "Something is not right with that chasing bat..." Then I noticed
the "ears" are feathers...
