You're making a movie? How long do you aim it to be? Are you working on it alone or with others? What's it about? Do you have any previews of it?
(I hope you don't mind all the interest. I love hearing about other people's animating projects).

awesome tut! I tried learning flash myself but it's not as easy as photoshop XD and much more complicated than the foolish animation shop (which is basicly only good for flickering stupid stuff XD) really helpful.just what I needed to know to not give up on flash XDD hope you'll decide to make a more comlex tutorial.your explenations are really great!

It took me a while to learn Flash as well - I'd been mucking about in Photoshop for years, but it was quite a different program altogether. I haven't used animation shop... might give it a try someday, just out of curiousity. ^^
I'm very, VERY glad you're not giving up on Flash! It takes a while to learn, but as you start animating things get easier and easier and you start to be able to produce some quite cool stuff. Hopefully I'll put up a tutorial on adding play and replay buttons sometime. I still need to teach myself actionscript, but buttons are really, really easy. ^^

wow thatnk you.animation shop is rally simple XDD you don't need to action script or anything.you just need to press buttons XD it's like flash for dummies XD

I'm glad to hear that - thanks, Pichu90. Onion skin is possibly the most useful tool Flash has to offer for frame-by-frame work. ^^

I'm really glad. It took me a wee while to learn about it and I had to find out for myself what I know about keyframing so I'm very glad to be able to make the processs of learning easier for you. ^^

I'm glad that they'll help you in imageready, too! Keyframing and inbetweening are basic concepts in traditional animation, so they work pretty well in any animating program. I'm not a master of them yet but they really make life easier. ^^
I'll look forward to seeing your animations if you get around to putting any up.

Need to make it more clear that there are TWO tutorials within this one flash animation tutorial, though. Otherwise, good! Very easy to understand, and introduces some good key concepts I'd have to struggle and frustrate myself learning otherwise.

Hmm.. that's a pretty good point. And I forgot to change the frame when its supposed to display the frog with his eyes completely closed. I should get around to fixing that shortly.

Yup. And do fix it; don't just leave it. It should be easy enough to fix (I hope), and will definitely stop any viewers who need the tutorial from getting confused.
