I wasn't expecting to do another sketch card so soon but when I was this Spider Man piece I knew I had to come up with some way to integrate it into some ROM fan art...nikoskap.deviantart.com/art/We…
Sadly we never got a real team up between these two characters a Spider Man cameo in ROM spaceknight 23 was the closest we ever got to that. Among other things, wanna see some cool local public art of Spider Man?

fave piece of art by you...rom and spidey are 2 of my top 5 heroes....this truly rocks. pretty sure spidey could detect dire wraiths through his spider-senses... not knowing they are aliens of course, but the people they have morphed into are evil.

good point about Peter's spidey senses i wonder if they would be able to detect the dire wraiths. quite an excellent point actually. but before you sing my praises too much you should take note of the information in the art description and the link i left there to the other deviant art page. Spider Man in this piece is done from direct inspiration from another artist's Spider Man fan art.

i always liked the black spidey outfit but thanks anyways. it seemed like his classic costume made more sense for this sketch card.

the black costume was mostly drawn without highlights, losing lots of body definition as well as muscle tones depending on the artist, and facial expressions as well

well i've got a lot of fond memories of the black costume ever since seeing it for the first time in Secret Wars. i remember how it blew everybody away in the comic scene at the time my friends and i were all talking about it and the Secret Wars black Spidey action figure variant was basically the most highly sought after figure. despite the lack of detail it had a "ninja" like quality to it which went over well the whole ninja thing was pretty hot in the 80s.
