Description This is my 100th deviation and I wanted to do something special.

A lot of you wanted to know how to make wire and tube fractals, so I thought one of the best things I could do to thank the dA fractal community was to write a tutorial, so here it is!

The distribution contains:

- a .htm file better for browsing (the links inside the document are active)
- a .pdf file better for printing (the links inside the document are disabled)

Have fun experimenting with this, and I'm looking forward to your own wire and tube fractal creations!

OK so though I only just downloaded it I usually get along with software really well. Because of this I thought it'll be fine you'll get the hang of it in no time. I started the tutorial and I discovered that...I couldn't find the new flame button! There aren't even any buttons there! What do I do?

Are you sure you are using Apophysis, at least version 2.04-2.05? There is a "New blank flame" button in the editor and it's not removable (the editor is not the main window, you have to open it from the main window first, or press the F4 key).

This is a fantastic tutorial--I adore that you've said what each number/variable affects. That's rare, and so much more helpful than just "set A to .3 and B to 7." Thank you so much! If I render and upload something inspired by your tutorial, I'll link here.

ooh boy! i just got one up yesterday from this one. it's so easy to read and understand. much easier than some of the other tutorials out here for apo. i posted one really basic one here [link] and am planning to do a revision soon with it. now i'm hooked on another that has actually been taking up my spare time for the last day... tell me what you think? and thanks again!

I spent an hour last night working on designing a tube fractal and [link] is what I ended up with.

Bobbi-Styles [2007-02-26 07:47:59 +0000 UTC]

your tutorial was very informative and left a lot for me to figure out for myself so i could come up with my own render. The only problem i encountered were the Tubes, i could not figure out how to make them loop around themselves, or how to make them bigger at one end and smaller at the other no matter how much i changed settings or moved the triangles. Wicked tutorial!

I guess this saved my previous question...I'm checking the tutorial out...interesting! Thanks for posting it...it gives me another type of fractal flame to play around with...or at least more ideas in the creativity department... It should be fun!
