Chapter 1: The Rescue

Smoke.Fire.Bodies.

Thats all they saw when they finally reached Outpost 31.

It had been almost an hour since take off, and they were all glad it wasn’t all for nothing. After that smoke they had seen in the distance, they had prepared to investigate what had happened. They’de already seen what happened to Thule Station, and knew that the American Outpost was close by. If they failed to find out what had happened to both places, their boss wouldn’t be too happy to find out that they had returned without any answers.

They found a safe spot to land their chopper, and started to rush to the devastated outpost. They started to check the areas for radiation, but with no avail. The place was clean of any dangerous substances such as Mercury or Uranium. No extreme explosives were found, only a few detonated sticks of dynamite. Nothing. All they found was broken furniture and burning wood.

“Hey! Over here” yelled one of the crew members. Everyone rushed over to him, and relief was the only emotion they felt. 2 survivors, barely conscious, were huddled together against some metal barrels. One of them had a brown, scraggly beard and long hair as well. The other was a bold African American whom had a small, black mustache. Both were in bad state, with snow piling around their body, mild burns and small amounts of frostbite around their facial area.

“Grab them by the arms and legs, were bringing them back to base” ordered the leader of the crew. So they did as told, one person grabbing the legs while the other grabbed the arms, carrying them back to the chopper. They pulled the survivors onto the chopper, strapped them tightly onto the medical beds, and just as they were about to take off, someone else made a discovery.

“Hey Anthony!” One of the crew member walked towards the man who had shouted his name. “What is it Trev- Oh my god…” Anthony was lost for words as his eyes caught a horrifying sight: A large humanoid creature lay on the cold snowy floor. Half of its body was missing, burned away by some sort of explosive. It didn’t have legs, for instead on legs, it had one large tentacle that was ripped and torn. It’s chest had a gap in it, where  a large, green tentacle had emerged from inside, but it was badly burned and large chunks of greenish flesh was missing.

“What monstrosity is this?!” exclaimed Anthony, as he stared as his comrade.

“Don’t know” said the other “But I suggest we take it back to base to begin an autopsy and study its Biomass, find out what the hell this thing is”

And so the 2 crew members informed the rest, and carefully wrapped the specimen in a large cloth wrap and safely secured it on the hook of the chopper. As they took off, the survivor with the beard began to mumble.

“One of the survivors is saying something!” a female crew member yelled. The crew surrounded the survivor with hopes of a sentence. All they got were a few words:

D..don’t….let..i..it..ess….esss...escape...

Chapter 2- The Thing Evolution: Chapter 2: Russian Base

Well, I think I definitely started this thing off with a BANG! i am quite pleased with myself for this chapter, and I hope I get good feedback from this. I will make about 5 more chapters or so if I continue to get positive feedback, and if I do I will continue this soon-to-be epic tale. If not, then there will be only 5 chapters, because if theres something I hate is hard work that was done for nothing. I know I'm sounding selfish, but something about me just doesn't like the idea of wasted time, and these stories could become one of those things.

Anyways, leave a suggestion for upcoming chapters. Thanks for reading this far, and expect more likable content in the future. Stay awesome, dudes!
