Chapter 5: Anthony Thing

“What the fuck… is that…?!” Dennis whimpered. Everyone was shocked and terrified at what they saw before them.

The lab had been infested by giant, brown spores that were bulging squirting liquid. Tentacles had surrounded the walls of the room. One large, giant tentacle could be seen emerging from the ground. Then, everyone eyed one creature that was staring back at them.

Anthony was glued onto the tentacle that lingered there. His body had been ripped from any clothing, and tentacles were emerging from nearly every part of his body. His skin had been turned pale and brownish, and his pupils were bright orange. His teeth were as sharp as daggers, and instead of speaking he was making clicking noises. Anthony started to make his way to the group very slowly, slithering patiently.

“Everyone get back!” McReady yelled. This caused the Anthony Thing to become berserk as he suddenly rushed towards the door. Smashing through it, everyone was fleeing for their lives. Boris yelled at Ben. “Ben! Get the damn guns!”. Ben sprinted to a closet, and upon opening it revealed 4 shotguns. He grabbed one and as soon as the Anthony thing emerged from the door, he began blasting it.

The Anthony thing roared in pain, and flung a sharp tentacle at Ben, who luckily dodged it. He continued shooting, causing the Anthony thing to become even more angry. McReady had moved towards Ben and also grabbed a shotgun, joining the defense. The Anthony thing began to retreat back into the lab. McReady got one last shot, shooting it in the ear. They both followed the creature back into its den, only to see it escape into a burrow underground.

Minute slater everyone re-entered the room. Blood and small pieces of flesh had been splattered on the floor and on the walls. McReady and Clyde were still staring at the large hole the Anthony thing had dug. “It must have an underground tunnel system” McReady said “Could be underneath us right now”. “Not likely” Boris contradicted “You saw how wounded it was. It will be a while until it returns”. McReady replied to this statement “It’s healing itself. It won’t be long until it comes back, which I think will be in a matter of hours”. Then he turned to look at Boris “Still don’t believe me?” he asked tauntingly. Boris pulled a grim face as he said “After what has happened today, I can’t say I don’t believe you” he put his hand on McReady shoulders “ What do we do?”

Boris had the team assemble in the common room. He said they needed to relax and process what had happened. Everyone was in shock, and almost as shaky as Kate. But Kate wasn’t shaky or nervous right now. She seemed more active and serious than ever. McReady decided to investigate “Hey, why the sudden mood swing” he asked. Kate looked up at McReady and replied “ I've experienced this thing as well. If it has returned, than I intend on killing it once and for all.” she said. Then a small tear fell out of her eye “ That thing killed my friends, it even killed someone I liked. I will get my revenge, and it will be done” she said menacingly. McReady was flattered. He wasn’t expecting to see Kate so headstrong like that. “So, what should we do?” Childs asked, walking up to McReady.
“Well, we first see if anyone has been infected” Kate said.

So they gathered the group, everyone was there except… “Where’s Trevor?” Childs asked. Boris answered “He’d gone to the bathroom”. “How long ago” Kate asked. Boris puzzled over this “He- he went to the bathroom about an hour ago”

Kate, McReady and Childs charged the bathroom doors. They flung open, only to find that Trevor wasn’t there. Instead, the toilet bowl was missing, replaced by a large hole that was soaked in blood. “No….No….NO!” McReady said. IT had gotten another victim. Now, IT was on the move. IT was ready to fight...

Chapter 5: Anthony Thing
