After long time, finally I have finished a new drawing with my baby pet-dragon, Toother! For your information - I have drawn it at A5 format: 14,8x21,0 cm (5,83×8,27 inch) and it's my smallest drawing; mostly I draw at twice bigger sheet of paper, in format A4, but this time I just want to make it faster.

Now something about this picture. As you can suppose, this picture shows Toother's first birthday, which has took place at June 6th 2014. As a birthday cake, I have used a big roasted trout; Toother was overjoyed! Trout was so big that for the first time he wasn't able to eat all his meal! But I'm sure that you see at this picture another fish. Yes! This small-one is a favorite Toother's toy; a squeaky rubber toy for dogs, which I have called "fishy-wishy". In fact, it was a squeaky toy, cause Toother doesn't like squeaky sounds and empty rubber toys were too... flimsy. You know what I mean? That's why I have poured a heavy rubber inside the toy to make it firmer. But even now each "fishy-wishy" suffice only for few weeks. This one is a toy number 11 - fortunately I have bought at eBay all package of 20 toys.

What is most important thing after Toother's first birthday? That Toother is finally health and he start to grow again and... start to change into an adult dragon. Just look carefully: his wings, especially at tail, start to be less well-turned - at the end of each rod in his tail wing now is sharp-edger, and at its end is small spikes. In his main wings, at the end of each finger has shown a small claw too! And markings at Toother's skin are more clear visible. And one more thing: I have noticed that in fact, Toother has 6 fingers in each main wing, just like all Furies, but thumb is free, index and middle fingers are joined, ring finger is normal and the little finger is doubled! Toother is a mystery - he still can surprise me. And that's why I love this freaky reptile!

And here is inherent Doodle-Art to this picture: Doodle to Toother's B-day

Dlatego wlałem do środka zabawki twardą gumę by zrobić ją bardziej trwałą.

Zębaty to zagadka - wciąż umie mnie zaskoczyć! I za to kocham tę szaloną gadzinę!

A tu są nieodłączne Bazgroł-Arty do tego rysunku: Bazgroły do urodzin Zębatka

You're right. This all dragons' black PR is a classic example of the rule "kill everything what you don't understand". But last years I see some positive trends; people start to like dragons and many of them are fascinated by this mysterious and mighty creatures. You should thank to all movie makers and writers who started to describe dragons from better side of theirs nature. Present image of dragons is far better than in medieval age; I think that soon, will become a day when dragons would be able to stop hiding and walk out to people who don't hate them but who love them.

I hope so...damn movies like Rein of fire...making us look bad...but its been a few years since that one...and movies have been showing us as better...except for one *cough*The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug*cough cough*...

Right. But even Mr. Smaug, although he has bad character, is great and wonderful dragon, adored and respected by many people. he is a symbol of all dragons. "Reign of fire" is a one big bull-shit about dragons; such a devastating creatures will quickly destroy life on Earth; like an Alien - such a creature is just impossible, cause it would destroy itself. But when I look at humans, i ask myself; maybe I'm wrong and humans are such a creatures, worse than all "Aliens" and "bad dragons" combined?

I wonder about that too...but I know there are enough good humans out there...they just need to be brave and stand up against the evil of the current world...

I know that dragons like poetry (songs and good manners too). So, I would like to show you something which would be a good answer: one of Polish singers, Czesław Niemen, has wrote a song "Strange is this World" (in polish "Dziwny jest ten Świat") which describe well this all - it's the greatest Polish song ever:

Strange is this World

Strange is this world,
where still is
so much evil.

And strange is the fact that
for so many years
man has been scorning man.

This strange world,
the world of human affairs,
sometimes it is even such a shame to admit it.

But it is often like this
that someone kills
with an evil word as if with a knife.

But there are more people of good will
and I do strongly believe in the fact
that this world
won't never die due to them.

No! No! No!
The time has come,
it's high time
to destroy the hatred within.

I hope that you like it...

Interesting...
And today is the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks against the U.S. I will never forget that day...

True. I remember that day very well; at firs, I though that it's only a casual fire, caused by some idiot who put burning fag-end to trashcan. But when I saw this plan which just flew into second tower I knew that I watch a happening which will change the world. I still can't believe that it was 13 years ago; it seams like it was yesterday. Time pass so quickly; at Ground Zero is a new Tower and... a new destructive power has arisen from ashes; Black Caliphate - empire of hate. I hope that there will be no repeat of this story.

theres more then just a new tower there, there are two other smaller towers, a museum, a new subway station, and a transit hub...but beyond that, I hope there won't be a repeat either...

That's true - the dark wound in a heart of New City has almost healed. Freedom Tower, like a giant crystal stands in a forest of skyscrapers. It looks amazing, but being honest I prefer the original project - Vertical World Gardens. Even a next-to-last project was quite good; this one is, for me, too "frugal".

Lord-DracoDraconis In reply to DanGref [2014-09-17 01:49:34 +0000 UTC]

Though I'd say the original, original design was probably way too ambitious...and would have been an even more inviting a target to future terrorists...and for some reason their calling the building One World Trade Center (as in building number 1) rather then the freedom tower...

DanGref In reply to Lord-DracoDraconis [2014-09-19 15:02:47 +0000 UTC]

You know - crisis! No money - no ambitions. And only me think that Freedom Tower looks like Taipei101?

In all world people build many beautiful skyscrapers - I love this building, although I know how irrational they are. But such a Burj Khalifa or Zifeng Tower looks fabulous. So unreal! I can't wait to see the Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia. But most of tallest and most beautiful buildings are in China. Big country - big ambitious. But no matter what, I think that this 'race to clouds" is a madness. They just waist money.

Yeah...to me big towers equal big targets...that's why we dragons prefer caves...no silhouette to make them targets...

DanGref In reply to Lord-DracoDraconis [2014-09-22 12:39:59 +0000 UTC]

Yup. Maybe that's why you have survived so long. Cave are the best place to hide and be safe when something bad is happening. You're right; maybe Sheikh Zayed Avenue in Dubai looks stunning and the artificial mountains range of skyscrapers - especially when they sink in a see of fog - would be a great obstacle course for every dragon (especially for young one), but life is better when we all live closer to our natural environment.

True, very true...nature has its own...monuments, they might not be as flashy as the ones humans make but their even more amazing at times...the razor rock forests of Madagascar, the Giant's Causeway of Ireland, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Denali, Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Mf. Fuji, The great Fjords of Norway, the amazing and deadly Swiss Alps, Mt. Rainer, The Everglades, The expanses of the Saharah, The Grand Canyon, the Sunset Crater Volcanic Cinder Cone, The Volcanos of Hawaii and Iceland, Mt. Shasta, Crater Lake, the Carlsbad Caverns, and many hundreds of others...including ones most (other then sea dragons or some kind of space dragon...) will never see, due to them being on the bottom of the ocean or on other planets...

DanGref In reply to Lord-DracoDraconis [2014-09-24 11:00:55 +0000 UTC]

I know exactly what you mean! Humans only try to imitate the nature, cause what else is a "house" if it's not an artificial cave; skyscraper - a mountain, road - a trail? Humans have always admired nature's works, so they were always trying to imitate them in theirs works. But the primeval art-works of Mother Nature will be always the best ones. But we live in artificial world, which starts to kill us; slowly, in silence. I even don't remember when I saw stars at night in my city, Kraków; there is so many street lights. It's so difficult to find a place where sky in moonless night is really black. What we have done this this world?

There are still some city's that have that "natural" touch...San Francisco is one I think...but yes it is very hard to find areas where you can see the stars without light pollution getting in the way...

I was thinking about an offer of... "Your portrait with your pet-dragon" - who will propose the highest p[rice will get a realistic his realistic portrait with his pet dragon. For now it's only an idea for distant future but one day I will do this - be sure that I will, so... you know?

Not no but one day. Maybe at winter or spring. And it will not be a classic commission on DA, for points - such an art; very difficult and time-consuming; will be for money. It would be an auction; who will propose a best price will win! But, just like I have sad, it's still a plan.
