I like the texture of the face. Great composition, too. The tilt of the head makes it more interesting.

Thank you very much! Means a lot that you found the composition good. It's the first time in my life when I really start considering composition for my portraits

Thank you! I'm excited for the final. There's at least two more elements I am planning on putting my power into.

Aaron Griffin's brushes as a base, modified to my taste. You can download them here on dA.

I wish I knew any shortcut to blending. Just pick an appropriate brush and use a lot of color picker tool. In most cases if it doesn't work right it's because I have the wrong brush.

I especially admire the look of the 'glow' you've produced. I look forward to seeing the finished piece. !!!

Wow, I love this! Lighting is fantastic and I love how volumetric everything feels! The pose/expression has so much life to it too!
Since you asked for critique, I think her right eye (screen left) is visibly bigger than the other one, but it could just be because the other one is partially covered.

Thank for the fantastic comment!
Her eyes are indeed different sizes, it's a distortion of the photo I used as a reference. I started out with a basic structure but I lost her likeness which was very important to her so I adopted the distortion for the sake of the likeness. It does look kinda weird on a painting, too bad I can't paint her from life.

Ooh I see! That makes sense! Either way, I think it's a very minor thing, I didn't even notice it at first glance.
