That's not windows. he is using elementaryOS . so the dock is by default.

I'm still sticking with terminator, because of the ability to split windows with ctrl-shift-o (the auto-copy text is also pretty useful)
any plans to add those to eOS's terminal?

Doubt: do you plan to ditch window titles by default in the next versions of eOS? You know, both for cleanness and screen real estate.

It depends on the state of client-side decorations in GTK. If that lands in the version of GTK that we'll be using, then yes. If not, then no.

Which app is represented by the twitter-a-like icon? (:

Droid Sans Mono is a bad option for code because the bold font is wider than the regular.

Dan, why don't you base elementary off Debian instead?

opensas In reply to TheVirtualDragon [2014-02-18 11:14:23 +0000 UTC]
what would be the advatange of basing it on Debian? less clutter?
I miss the apt-add-repo from debian...
any other differences?

For now, building on Ubuntu makes more sense for us.

I see your Scratch editor doesn't have the search bar permanently enabled like mine since a few updates ago. Do you know anything about that? How do I remove it?

There's currently a branch in progress that re-adds the hide/show stuff.

Love the new dark icons on midori's navigation buttons! Though I still wish that the default plank theme would be:

I think it frames the interface much better with the dark wingpanel on the top and the dark plank on the bottom. (maybe without the white border so that it's more consistent with the wingpanel's looks)

It might be okay on a smaller screen on a laptop, but using an OS that allows no desktop icons on a large screen on a desktop still feels a bit ridiculous no matter how I try to get used to it. There's still no plan to change this behavior?
Other than this and a few other hiccups, Luna is indeed an awesome release. It's getting there.
Btw, are you going to port eGTK to GNOME 3.6 anytime soon? Or do we have to wait until you guys start working on Luna+1?

DanRabbit In reply to illusionmist [2012-12-08 01:56:01 +0000 UTC]
Nope, no plan to put icons on the background. You can always add folders to the dock, but we're moving to an app-based workflow and away from a file-based one.
GTK 3.6 support is planned to land in Luna +1

An app-based workflow -- does that mean that you plan to implement the file browser within an app concept, like most mobile and web creative applications do?

DanRabbit In reply to Mirek2 [2013-02-08 20:55:35 +0000 UTC]
More or less. Apps would handle their own libraries in the way that makes sense for those apps, like Music players already do.
