NOTE: This deviation is a little outdated. You can now download "DarlingMionette's SAI Resources" at the bottom of the Custom Brush Supplement.
It is a .zip file of all my brush settings, textures, blank do-it-yourself resources, instructions for creating custom content, and associated start-sai.exe file that lets you register these files to your SAI without editing the .conf files manually :3 All in one convenient place. All of my current brush settings have been updated to match the files in the .zip file, and contain image examples for each. Be sure to read the README's! Oh hey I downloaded your Textures, I have to Open these Files: brushform.conf
brushtex.conf
papertex.conf
Do I need a special Program to open them ?

DarlingMionette In reply to Heather302 [2013-07-14 18:55:58 +0000 UTC]
nope, just right click on the .conf file, and go to "Open with" ("Open" if you don't have that) it should ask you what program you want to use, just pick wordpad or any other text editor. it should open right up!

[link] - I have the same kind of circle like you have there above. But I just keep wondering what did you mean by drawing a shape inside the circle . I'm just too afraid of that I'm going to ruin my picture even though I have the original one.
A pic would be nice. n____n

inside the blue picture use black/gray to draw a shape, this will be your new "brush tip" or brush texture. Just save it under a new name in your brushform folder and then add it to the end of the brushform.conf file you can always save the blank circle version to make more brushes later if this one doesn't work out

for the brush on the minimum density, is it possible to do a stroke like that using a mouse instead? o.O and also what brush is that? pen? marker??? o.O
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DarlingMionette In reply to xXlightxoxdarkXx [2013-06-06 13:06:42 +0000 UTC]
nope. all brushes will look different with a mouse because it's not pressure sensitive... any variation in the width of the line or pressure of it will have to be done manually with some fidgeting of the opacity and brush size. Also, it's neither it's a custom brush.

i was wondering...can't i make a brush out of a pattern i found online, because i see lots of patterns on DA but they're all for photoshop T_T
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DarlingMionette In reply to Oursolemnsoul [2013-03-30 17:59:29 +0000 UTC]
you can :3 but it needs to be completely black and white and saved as a .bmp it may not work well for the brush texture, but as a paper texture it'll work really well.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Oursolemnsoul In reply to DarlingMionette [2013-03-30 18:19:41 +0000 UTC]
how do i save it as a bmp?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DarlingMionette In reply to Oursolemnsoul [2013-03-30 18:35:19 +0000 UTC]
just take the original image and open it in any program that allows conversion to .bmp, and save it as one ^^
