i found the star burst in the background is pretty wicked as well.

It's more likely I missed that patch with the burn tool. When I scan black, it's never actually black, so I frequently need to use the burn and dodge tool and alter the contrast to make pages look better on screen.

Man. I am so slow with comments. The colors on this look great (again, I feel like I always say this, hehe). But seriously! I really like the whole bright-but-different-colored-backgrounds-in-each-frame thing you've been doing, it's really unique and effective. The superdramatic under-shot in the last panel is great, too.
