Description I need my drawing board...seriously. I did this strip using a ruler and set square, leaning on a sketchpad. It was a pain to say the least, it took much longer to do the layout this way. Still, it doesn't look so bad, does it? Not the most exciting of strips, but definitely an important one for the storyline...hahaha, you just know what's going to happen, don't you?
I tried another new way of doing the speech bubbles. This way looks much neater, doesn't it? But I dunno, I like the handwritten ones too....
Oh, and Juliet is NOT GAY, she just calls her female friends 'babe' because she's cool and so she's allowed to do that because I say so!

Like the speech bubbles ^.^ Good thing you said that Juliet isn't gay, I was already wondering if "Juliet" really was a girl XD I thought she might be a guy with boobs *shames*

Alas, I don't draw ridiculously girly looking women like most manga artists. To people who aren't manga readers, it's very easy to tell who's male and female, problem is that some people are overused to how in lots of manga female characteristics are overemphasised (because the men all look like women to begin with, so the women have to be hyper-femenine to look like women at all). I don't spoil my reader by making doe-eyed heroines with tiny mouths, 15" waists and D-cup cleavage, I expect a small amount of intellegence of my audience.

Yeah, sorry about that XD When I read it yesterday, I was just wondering if I had misunderstood that Juliet was a girl (just like: huh? Juliet was a girl right?). I like your drawing style ^.^ I hate it when people act like girls are only good for cleaning and cooking.

Yeah, for some reason even in comics and books by women, the female characters can be very superficial or weak, almost like they base their characters on characters they've found in other things rather than thinking 'how would I react in this situation?' All the characters in FanDanGo take aspects of their personalities from real people, particularly the female characters, they mostly come from my friends, little things my friends do or would say influence how the characters act. Juliet is a very confident girl, like some of my old drama and music student friends from college, who actually did call their female friends 'babe', which apparently outside England is considered really wierd and kind of gay if you're a girl...ah well.

Very good as usual. I have to say.. I love character development pages just as much as exciting ones. Readers need the breaks in between because if they dont they will lose interest

invest in copics, they are awesome! good chapter btw! lol i'm starting to get to know the characters a lot better now that i'm actually sitting down and reading it. of course i have the unfair advantage as compared to a lot of people here ^^ heheh i feel special.

hahaha. Since you're reading, I need to ask, does Juliet remind you of Mennat? It makes no sense since I made Juliet up long before I met you guys, but seriously, especially on page seven when she tilts her head a bit...she's Mennat!!!

hahah! lol i do kinda see what you mean! mennat does do that a lot doesn't she? hmmm lol influence of those around you lol, it helps and half the times it's unconcious lol.

but besides that... as for your drawing you've started to put a lot more difference in juliette's size too. i'm starting to see the difference you didn't have in it before. it's much easier to differentiate ^^

gambatte kudasai!

Hehe, yeah, I've been looking at my sister for inspiration for Juu's physique, as she's very strong and fit, but with a heavier build than me. To make it even more of a contrast I made Rocket even skinnier looking now so that even next to Rekki she looks small and underdeveloped. When I'm drawing Juliet, I'm always thinking 'Bigger! bigger dammit! Draw her bigger!' I really would like for the character's physiques to say something about their personalities, so Rocket is untapped and underdeveloped as well as having a childlike naive side, so she's still very much like a little girl, Rekki is skinny and uptight, you can tell she fidgets just by looking at her, she's strong and fragile at the same time, kind of brittle, Juliet is calm and grounded, not easily shaken and very mature so a curvy and slightly heavier build suits her, and in the latest drawings of Sarin she looks like Amano sensei, I lengthened out her body to give her a tall 'lofty', graceful look since she's very smart and mature but not as physical as some other characters.

Hahaha, you know, I work in grey because I'm too cheap to buy lots of coloured copic markers, and colouring on computer takes longer! ^_^ Thanks for the comment!
