Hyper-comix may be down, but since most of the hyper people who are into FanDanGo watch me anyway, it's not really so much of a disaster.This page came out soooo much better than I thought it was going to. It's not perfect of course, I'm not entirely confident at drawing fight scenes and stuff. My definite favourite cel is Rekki silhouetted. The next page is also gonna be action, but was much easier to storyboard. Hopefully by the time I get to the really serious big fights in later chapters, I'll have become better at drawing them!
...I haven't used black cel padding in aaages! I don't think it's been used since the very first page of the comic!

I was wondering though, is Rekki meant to be left or right handed? In all the other pages of FanDanGo, she's swinging or at least holding her sword lefty, but in this page she fights right handed.
...I'm confused

Rekki is left handed. As indicated by the fact that she wears her sword on the right. Juliet is also left-handed. Sarin, Subo and Rocket are right handed, but Rocket's sword is so small, she wears it on her right and draws it like a pistol.
...Oh crap! She DOES hold her sword right handed there! I'd never noticed! Um...I dunno, maybe she switched hands for a moment for some reason...Okay, so actually I made a mistake there. Sometimes these things happen, hahahaha. I'll try to be more careful in future.

Though its pretty cool you've got a left handed heroine, lefties almost don't seem to exist in the world of comics, and when they do they're invariably evil and male.

I got around to reading up to this page, and I'm liking it so far! Nice costume design, clean layout and quite enviable line art. I think the only real suggestion I would have at this point is to add some more shadows or dark tones, as there's a bit too much white space going on sometimes. Maybe that's already been changed, and I just haven't gotten there yet Anyways, count on me to keep reading!

Woah, I got back on devart for the first time in a month and there were 7 whole new pages of FanDanGo out!
This one's my favorite out of them all. ^^ I like the way your eye can just slide from one panel to the next really naturally, it works great for following all the action. Rekki's sillhouette with the sun behind her is awesome, and I love how you drew her face, along with everything else, in the last panel. Hehe, and the sound effects are pretty cool too. (Shwoom!)

Kiwi chan! I missed you! ^_^ haha, glad you like this page. I really worked hard to make the action sequence easy to follow. Sound effects are...er...well, I don't like using regular onomatapeia, like 'crash!' and 'screech!' so I make up random ones, sometimes influenced by the Japanese sounds for things. I think my favourite is on an earlier page (around page 4 I think) where Rekki's sword makes a 'Tsaaaaa' sound.

I just draw them with a ruler 0_o' I've never trusted screentones!
The general idea is that all the lines should be perfectly parallel, but they should all be different lengths and distances apart. It's not so hard to do, but can be nerve wracking due to the fact that getting them wrong can be nasty.

having them be parallel isnt really that hard cause of the ruler but the problem i have is making them somewhat the same length apart from each other,...

They don't need to be the same length apart from each other. They look much better if they're all differently spaced! Just arrange them in a pattern that pleases your eye.

I think we have a mental link, in our latest comics we both used 'pang' as a sound effect 0_o' I wondered who would comment on the sound effects here. I was torn between using normal onomatapeia 'bang!' 'whack!' etc or just making up stuff that sounds good. Since FanDanGo has already used Kchack and Tsang! in earlier pages, it seemed the obvious way to go to continue using crazy sounds.
