Description
Finally got this page done. Took too long, and I'm not all that keen on it. I was a required page though, for establishing a few things. Bringing in the air of conspiracy and mystery is something I'm glad to finally get done. In the next storyarc, things won't jump around nearly as much. It's not a great page, but at least it's a page. The next pages won't take this long, and should be nicer.

Whoa! A sudden change of direction for the story! Very reminiscent of Frank Miller's Ronin! Now my already piqued curiosity is totally aroused!

Haha, if you think that's hot, wait until you get to the conspiracy theories!
I'm just glad to be drawing something besides trees!

It's just impossible to draw fast enough, isn't it?

It's times like this I wish I were a mutant...
I could have the power to draw really really fast! Like Quicksilver, only less (or more, depending on your point of view) useful!

ooh, this is an interesting shift...
And hey, we're out of the forest here too! Woah! You mean to say that the entire plot of FanDanGo doesn't take place in forest full of wiggly trees?! : o
Hehe just kidding. (They're not actually all that wiggly btw, I just thought it once and the word got permanently stuck in my head from that day forth. I do like your trees. ) For some reason I think the tones look really nice on this page, and glasses-man's face shots, too. Maybe it's got something to do with how you showed the lighting in that room, it's simple but somehow it works really well.
And, I hardly need to say this anymore but great dialogue. XD

I wish I hadn't set the first arc in that bloody forest. I'm so sick of the wiggly trees now hahahaha. The trees are birch trees, which are thin and wiggly in real life. In my area (in England, not Japan) we have a few birch woods where the trees were coppiced for the production of bobbins and stuff. Problem is, a lot of my readers...in fact pretty much 99% of my readers do not live in an English national park (nearly my entire county is taken up by the Lake District National Park), and think the trees look wierd hahahaha.
At the end of this arc, and next chapter, you'll get more of a feel for the funky retro world in which these guys live, and I'll have much more chance to do stuff like this with lighting, yay!

Hahaha, thanks. I quite liked how he came out too! Shame he's not going to be all that high profile really, but he will be turning up again.

I love how dramatic this pages is... and how it's still so funny ^-^ I can't wait to see more of these newer characters already.
Artwise, I have to say I like the way Sol looks in both panels he is in. Over all it's totally awesome as usual, but I really like the way he came out.

Thanks. I am quite fond of Sol's expression in the second panel myself. He's a wierd character to do because he swings between being really overconfident, and wanting to run away when he gets in over his depth because of it. It makes him a lot of fun sometimes, because he just wants to be cool, but fails at it because he lacks actual skill. I think lots of people can relate to that, haha.

I lile the way you don't need to use professional comic tones to get an atmosphere accross- your shading(however you did it...) conveys more atmosphere than flat comic tones.

Thanks. I use copic markers for nearly all my tone work, they give a smooth, but slightly mottled look that I really like, plus it just has more of a 'hand drawn' feel than screentones.
Thanks for commenting!
