Offside is a football (aka. 'Soccer' if you're from somewhere else) term, it's a rules that's something to do with....er...being closer to the goal than the ball and the nearest opposing player to the goal? I dunno. It's a generally well known cliche in Britain, that is frequently true, that very few women actually understand the offside rule. Myself included.This was a nice page because it scanned well. I like how it came out. Subo looks a lot closer to how I think he should look than he did in earlier pages. Headmaster Albion was a really fun character to design and draw too.

Headmaster Albion's design rocks. First thought when I saw him was, 'that guy looks like an ex-military pirate!' In those exact words.

Hahaha, everybody thinks 'Pirate', and the thought never actually occured to me! I wrote his lines in northern dialect without realising that you can read it in a piratey dialect too! Hahahahahahaha.

Hahahahhahaa. I was thinking of him as 'Nick Fury meets Prof. Xavier' ...but actually Pirate BKV is far more entertaining a concept!

albion is my favourite character, he talks kind of like a pirate, I can't read his bubbles without thinking he has that Yarr accent in him. Plus the eye patch helps a bit.

Very wicked page, I like... 90% of it... the other ten percent is in panel one... but that's just my attitude to that style of mouth. It looks all stretchy and it sets me off. But otherwise I want to say something about fan boyishness… but given the critiquing… it wouldn’t work… D:! I am saddened ;_;

'Fraid the mouth thing is just my drawing style, I'm still getting used to drawing moths dully detailed in, rather than the simpler mouths seen earlier in the comic, because they don't work so well with colour. I'll settle into the style better eventually.
Glad you like the page. People actually talk like that where I come from, but I guess it could be read with a west country accent to sound very piratey... 0_o' Hahahhahahaa.

I’ve met people in nova Scotia who talk like that as well, and not with the pirate yarr accent. I just couldn't read him any other way, so for me he is le pirate!
