The previous CG of this image was...well, not that great to put it simply. This one isn't superb because I'm not a CG artist by nature, but I think it's kind of funky.
I decided that it'd be cool to use patterns to do the whole thing, so the only major area with no pattern fills is the skin. I used a texture fill over the top, so the whole thing is very tactile. I like this piece because it's a little bit wierd, like me. Originally I did it just to test out how pattern filling would look on a lineart piece, but I really like how it came out. I'm doing a lineart right now, so I'll probably try this technique some more (but maybe more subtly) for that.
If you have any tips for me about improving CG work, or even where to find good pattern samples, I'd really like to know.
