Aluminium Donut is going to start making Children of the Earth again! This calls for a celebratory picture of Skye! W00t!character belongs to 'children of the earth' can be read at [link] in the 'enter the comix' section.
I drew the pic in pencil and then CGed it, I used a lot of unusual techniques to try to get the strength of colour and contrast right for this. Basically I messed about and had fun.

If you're wondering how to get that effect, in photoshop, you use the brush tool and put it on 'multiply' mode. Any colour you add sort of 'overpaints' so if you go over lineart, it goes over the lines, just painting the blank space, so it doesn't kill the lines and doesn't lose any saturation, it's really cool! I think the brush literally 'adds' the colour to the colours under it, rather than painting over them, so if you add orange to blank white, it goes orange, but because black is already as much colour as you can get, it doesn't go darker or something 0_o' Umm....try it yourself!
