Finally, the last of the FanDanGo character doodles is done. Sarin is always so hard to draw right, so I took extra effort with this one and it ended up bigger and more complex than the other doodles. I didn't want to reveal too much about her, since she's important in the current story arc of the comic and it'd spoil things.My idea for how Sarin ought to look is 'J-pop idol'. She's the only 'Japanese' major character, so I decided to give her a really nice cliched manga look for her pic, with floating sakura and manga goggles. Why I chose that particular kanji, I dunno, I just think it's a pretty kanji, don't be mistaken and think she's called 'akira!' *laughs* The kanji 月 (moon) is Amano sensei's favourite kanji, but I like the word 明るい(bright) which can be used to describe a bright, cheerful person as well as a bright room or something.
Erk....just noticed that Sarin is the only character who has their sword on their 'doodle' page! Ah well.
Yay for San-chan! (That's my nickname for her) I hope you enjoy her in chapter two!

For some reason all the main characters bar Subo are younger than me 0_o' dunno why I decided to do that, it just happened.
Sarin wasn't going to appear for a while, but I wanted her to be integral in the story arc, so now the story arc is these three narratives and how they come together. I like Sarin a lot, she's cool to draw and she gets some really clever dialogue.

Hahaha, yeah, I like this jacket design, unfortuately I made it up, so no such jacket exists. I'd love to see somebody cosplay one of my characters someday though *^_^*
I like designing cool coats (and since FanDanGo is set in a sort of 'alternate England' I had to dress my characters in warm clothes for practical, weather based reasons).

Most people think my female characters look masculine. I make my male characters more masculine to make up for it, I'm not into 'pretty' with my characters ^_^

There are lots of awesome male artists though, like and in the professional world people like Kosuke Fujishima (Ah My Goddess! and the character design in Sakura Taisen) is awesome. Drawing is really a case of practicing lots and enjoying yourself.
