Description Credit to kevinveldar/marcusstarkiller/captshade for the parts (along with any others I may have missed). You guys are awesome to release + upload all that stuff for us to use.

So named after Orthus, the two-headed guard dog of the giant Geryon in Greek mythology. You can probably see why.

Idea behind this one was somewhere between an ECM/Command vessel and a Picket Ship, meant to screen the trailing elements of a fleet while coordinating fleet or squadron actions. It's main saucer is indented with a modified navigational deflector, which also acts as a subspace relay. The bridge space normally reserved on the secondary saucer is replaced with a robust suite of electronic warfare equipment, able to jam signals and interrupt (or hide) subspace communications for several lightyears.
Though indented with torpedo launchers, the secondary saucer largely serves as a command center and equipment hub, enabling the vessel's 'mobile headquarters' functionality in a dedicated location (rather than merely a few spare rooms and a pod in an Excelsior). Two mounts on the underside of the secondary saucer carry the ship's resident phaser cannon and subspace transceiver, which itself was implemented as a means of communicating faster and more efficiently to command centers behind the front lines. The weaponry mounted onboard is comparable to similar-sized designs and can hold it's own, though it is not a vessel designed foremost for combat.

NOTE: Sensor pod fixed. It's no longer an internal warp nacelle blister.

As the originator, of these parts, I have to point out one thing...The "dome" you're using, on the Akula saucer section, is supposed to be a warp engine "blister".

It was used on a primarily "automated" ship, where the warp nacelles were integrated into the saucer, itself.

Gotcha, that makes sense. I assumed it was similar to a smaller type of the sensor domes present on several cruiser designs, particularily Excelsior ones, so I used that. There's a larger version in the parts list somewhere.
