Description
Credit to kevinveldar/marcusstarkiller/captshade/adrasil/kaisernathan1701 for the parts (along with any others I may have missed). You guys are awesome to release + upload all that stuff for us to use.Special credit to SenkanYamato for the secondary hull!
This is probably the most Constitution-like design I've made so far. That's good, though -- it was a welcome break from experimentation (and the other new ship coming soon).
Named for the Spanish carrack Victoria, the first vessel to ever circumnavigate the globe (during Magellan's expedition in 1519).
The Victoria's design is similar to that of most Constitution-type vessels, though several differences set it apart. For one, the Victoria lacks a fully developed engineering hull, instead opting to place the nacelle struts there in a 'swept-under' configuration. As well, the rear area of the saucer neck is extended and squared similar to the Ranger-class cruisers, compensating for the engineering hull's relatively small size by providing more crew space. The saucer section is mounted with a phaser strip instead of only phaser banks, which along with the 'TNG-esque' nacelles show this vessel as one constructed distinctly to bridge the gap between the end of the Klingon-Federation War and the development of the Galaxy-class.
I hope you enjoy this design as much as I did making it!
(Edit: Added proper credit for SenkanYamato's parts I used on this ship. Thanks again!)

Great job! What I really like about this ship is that, with the cut-out, you can make specialized equipment that could be attached there. Everything from the exotic: like a sensor array, to something more mundane like cargo containers. Sky's the limit

if you compare this with the Decatur/Belknap designs I think she fits in just nicely and could be classified as a strike cruiser. I love these ships well done

Really glad you think so! Though your classification of the Victoria as a Strike Cruiser is interesting. Aren't those designed explicitly for combat operations?

well yes, I was judging by design in my defense

The Belknap's undetucked nacelle config proved more effective than at-first guessed, so a new light cruiser class got the same treatment.
And it seems that the unique Engineering design seen later in the much-larger Excelsior is being testbeded here as well.

Yep! Though the Excelsior doesn't have the same 'undertucked' design, nor the extended neck. The combination of the two is what makes the Victoria somewhat of an experiment of her own -- especially considering the Belknap's placement of the nacelles on the underside of the whole engineering hull, not just the hull indent.

Glad to have your seal of approval on it!
The overall design came out pretty similar to my Mercury-class, so I figured the hull would be a natural progression.

You need to credit for the secondary hull you used. Though it does look good
