Description Credit to kevinveldar/marcusstarkiller/captshade for the parts (along with any others I may have missed). You guys are awesome to release + upload all that stuff for us to use.
Special thanks to adrasil this time, for inspiring the color scheme I used to make it more distinct from my Movie-era designs.

So... yeah. Here's the 'odd duck'. Not only that, it's a Phase II/TMP era ship! I've been working with it on and off for a while, so to finally have it done is a blessing.

Named for the three-headed dog of Hades. You can probably see why.Β
Though the Cerberus seems to have a lot of armament, it's fundamentally a science ship. It has one main and four auxiliary deflectors mounted on the front saucer and saucer 'pods', positioned top-edge and adjacent to the main. The saucer section itself is largely unarmed (save for a few phasers), with most of the weapons control and shielding being positioned in the attached "A" and "B" sections (above and below the primary saucer, respectively). As such, most of the space on the primary saucer is crew quarters, science labs, and other such 'nonessential' systems (besides the warp core, which runs the length of the saucer neck), while both of the "A" and "B" sections contain weapon systems (including it's compliment of Photon Torpedoes), shield emitters, and the ship's auxiliary impulse drives.
The idea of it is that the ship operates normally as a whole vessel, and while under threat the "A" and "B" sections are detached (along the grey lines you see on the two saucer necks) and piloted into combat by a skeleton crew. Thus, you can have a large amount of scientific personnel without (hopefully) risking the entire ship in the process, assuming that the now warp-disabled primary saucer isn't shot up first. Only the whole ship has the capability to warp -- much like the Enterprise-D during it's own saucer separation procedures, both "A" and "B" sections can temporarily maintain a warp shell, but not continue to power it, due to the lack of space for dedicated warp cores.

Yes, I am aware that Multi-Vector technology didn't exist until Voyager and Deep Space Nine did it, but I thought the idea was cool to think about. Plus, none of these are really 'canon' anyways, though i'm certain we'd like to assume that.

More sane designs coming in the near future!

Β I like her! (Only just - earlier today, actually) came across her.

Your top view looks rather like my Β  with regard to the main hull(s) - except mine is actually (only)Β an overlay while yours really has the smaller hull above (and below!) the larger one.

Pretty cool! Faved!Β  Β Β Β Β

Fascinating, indeed.

Don't worry, it's not like every design of mine is going to have three saucers. Only most of them.

I also did a multi-vector design awhile back.

Oooooh. Very cool design -- nice and sleek, low profile.Β

It really is a balancing act with these multi-vector ships, especially with separated hulls. Good on you for the attempt!

Kinda. The hull and some of the other stuff was from a parts image. Very much relieved you like it, though!
Multi-saucer designs go against none of Roddenberry's design principles -- it's just never really been done before, and that's why people might find it initially uncomfortable.
Thanks again!

Yeah i've done a few multi saucer designs too and some people i know get all freaked out by it.

It's definitely not an easy design to pull off -- credit on you for trying (and succeeding) anyways.
