Description Credit as usual to Quantum808/kevinveldar/marcusstarkiller/captshade/adrasil/kaisernathan1701/nichodo for the parts (along with any others I may have missed). You guys are awesome to release + upload all that stuff for us to use.

Special thanks to adrasil for the paint scheme. I think i'll be using this one from now on

This is a TMP-Movie-era heavy scout destroyer. The top view especially was one of my favorites to design and draw - it really works out with the paint scheme, in my opinion. The whole design seems to have a sleek sense of forward motion to it. Though this is a one-off design, the adapted saucer part might prove useful for similar designs and retrofits in the future.

Named for Theseus, Athens' mythological hero and legendary founder. Though based on designs such as the Ares-class, featuring a similar underslung primary deflector dish, saucer-mounted shuttlebay, and swung-back nacelles, the Theseus' diminutive size demands a more efficient and compact design to function all the same. The ship features two fore and one aft (outrigger-mounted) torpedo/probe launch tubes, along with a healthy compliment of forward and aft phaser banks (above-average for it's size and mission). The 'outrigger' module, though mostly uninhabited, also features a secondary deflector dish useful for scientific and long-range survey compared to it's underslung primary deflector. Theseus-class vessels often operate alone on deep-space surveys, though it's not unusual to find them working in groups with other ships or exploration cruisers to provide additional support. Functionally, the Theseus can conceivably assume nearly any mission role given to it.

Few more designs coming down the pipe soon. Stay tuned!

Know what it reminds me of? That Enterprise F model for that competition several years ago. Know which one I mean? This could've been like a sort of precursor to that design, if you get what I mean.

Ugh, IKR? And why does it need a bridge that's the size of two tennis courts? I mean really?

Sovereign class ships aren't as tall as the Galaxy class ships IIRC. The Sovereigns don't have as many decks as the Galaxy does. The latter has 42 decks, whereas the former don't even have 30. Unless there's a lot of waste do space between those decks or those corridors are pretty damn tall.

Awesome!  Like a Akayazi class but with some balls and more teeth.

It works though.  I thought at first that this might be a replacement design to retire most of the old Oberth science vessels.  The Oberth did their jobs well but had almost no defenses to protect itself.  Don't get me started on how Starfleet sent one unprotected science vessel to GENESIS even though it was likely one of the galaxies worst kept secrets.  The Grisson should have had another larger battle-ready ship there to oversee protecting Grissom while her crew did what they were sent there to do.  Maybe even a small convoy could or should have been sent there.  Like a couple ships to defend Grissom and another two to patrol the system but staying close by.

1701 at Genesis was still not repaired from her severe battle damage.  Scotty only had so much time to get to her.  If she was up to standard operations I am sure she would have kicked Kruge's ass!  The shields didn't work and that was a bit of a problem.  There is another ship class that could pass as an armed science vessel.  The Spokane class.  I know it is here on dA somewhere.  If you search for it here you will likely find her.

I thought that Spock and Uhura figured out a way to detect cloaked Klingon ships with the gaseous equipment in ST6.  They had a tailpipe as Uhura put it.  The Klingon Cloaks were totally different than the Superior Romulan Cloaks.  Romulan cloaks use a gravity torsion concept which was much like their way of traveling at warp speed.  The Romulans used a gravity torsion "well" as Geordi put it to travel at speeds comparable to Starfleet warp speed.  This "well" allowed FTL 'warp-like' bubbles to form around the whole ship and then it is just like Federation ships with their warp bubbles but its two different ways to form that bubble.  This would indicate that Romulan ships engines are connected to their cloak tech.  One or the other goes down and both are out of order.  Engines down, no cloak.  Cloak is down, the engines won't work.  In this way the Klingons have a better cloaking system as their engines are separate from their cloak tech.
