Description "Only on the stormy nights, when the air rolls freely around the waves does she appear. She rises like an angel, waves crashing around her, creating a wonderful ocean dress of blue and purples. This woman is a of the Sea. One of only a few who remain - The Protector of all things precious in the waters she rules. Men from other parts, far away travel the seas for endless miles and miles searching for the mysterious woman who protects or haunts the oceans - She is a beauty of nothing you have ever seen and only a few will gaze upon her smile. But be warned fair traveler - Look too deeply in her eyes and you might fall out of your boat!"

Hey no problem, what are you talking about? You have a ton of talent to work with It's all about just risking destroying a painting for practice that makes you better

Yup, that's true... but I'm such a coward xD
I keep on thinking things like "Oh fuck, I like this so much, I don't wanna screw up"... and those thinking lines don't do much for experience... sigh

haha, I hear that...It's like a video game, you get to a point and then you die and your like where the hell was that savepoint when I need it But hey thats where experience comes in and just a lot of messed up paintings you should see my first pictures... well you won't because i burned them

Awwww... it's not good to burn old pics...
I saved them for years. Now I see them and think "Yeaaaah, take that, Mr You-are-not-improving Inner-self"
I've allways thaught life should come with some kind of check point... so much things could be solved that way... =___=

Thanks! I always wanted to try the 'breaking' foamy sea look. It's something that has always seemed really nice to watch hehe. But really it's all about the story - something I have to work on

thank you the water was the trickiest part for me. I've always wanted to do the foamy sea and I didn't want to make the painting to busy so i tried to keep the whole piece monochromatic as best i could

thanks This is one of my favorites. I did this as a commission that sorta fell through but I'm happy with how it turned out Ever since I saw some rackham paintings or was it Howard Pyle I've always wanted to do those crashing waves with the white foamy look so this is my attempt! Thank you for the compliment

thank you The sea was especially tricky. I've always wanted to do that 'foamy' detail in water and I told my teacher that I was going to do it no questions asked the difficult part was making it so the picture didn't look flat

She held the moon in one hand like a great shining pearl
It pushed and pulled the ocean into a living dress of azure
wild winds combed her hair, as she flowed on the ebbs and tides
She carried a sword in the other like a promise of peace
calm graceful eye of steel

gladly I would drown in her gaze

Goddess of Storms

Azyh In reply to DavidHoffrichter [2006-07-28 22:28:27 +0000 UTC]

I fell in love with the name Azure a long time ago... was a character in a fantasy book I read, I don't remember the name of the book. But I was using it to mean 'blue' [link]

EnJoy your game if it is a d&d one I am jealous, seems to me you create brilliant characters so it would be a lot of fun!

DavidHoffrichter In reply to Azyh [2006-07-29 04:29:04 +0000 UTC]

the game is based around dnd actually...well the fight format anyway. its the sequel to morrowind called oblivion it's totally sucked my life out this summer. I usually don't play games much at all but this was definatly worth it - I have it for the xbox 360 but it's for the computer too. I swore i just did a quest around the name 'azure' so who knows oh man - one of the jobs i've always wanted was to do the pictures for cards for magic, etc

Azyh In reply to DavidHoffrichter [2006-07-29 05:04:12 +0000 UTC]

Oblivian cool, I have heard of it.

Well if cards is what you want to do then you have an impressive portfolio here, you just need the right people to see it

or you could always go into business ~ print and sell them yourself!
