Hope you guys are enjoying the Superbowl as much as I currently am. Haha. So here's my project, in between the game and cooking in prep for the game. Let's get started!Strange but true Sonic factoid #1. Mighty has a tail. Don't believe me? Check this out... [link]
I guess he lost it in translation, as he hasn't had a tail for a very long time in the Archie comic. But, as I've said before, this isn't Archie and I'm allowed to draw Mighty with a tail in my own comic. I'm also allowed to ink him without filling his body in solid black. Often, even when I'd leave him open, the inker would come along and fill him in with black ink. Pain in the ass.
The other thing I'm allowed to do is, of course, define my characters. It always bugged me how Archie treated the Chaotix as basically four of the same guy. Here, you can already get a sense of my continuity's versions of Espio and Mighty.

They should have given you full contorl over archie i mean this one page puts down most of that artwrok ive seen in the comic(i havent read any of them recentaly) i awalys though the colors and inks archie provided was a downgrade a very large one.

Excellent! Awesome first page, Dawn! Great dialog and art. Reminds me of the early issues of Sonic, when the stories, cintinuity and art mattered together.

I love Julie-Su too, she's my favorite Archie character, actually. Ah, but she won't be in this comic because I'm basically following a continuity all my own, mixing some SegaSonic and maybe SatAM. I don't know if the Freedom Fighters are a part of this yet (they wouldn't be seen in the comic either way), but at the same time, I'm not quite convinced I want Eggman as the villain over Robotnik. Anything's possible, but as you'll see later, Knuckles is convinced he's still the last of his kind. Same with Ruby. If I do further comics, or someone else wants to continue with the continuity I've started, then anything's possible. You can't really hope that everyone will accept your continuity, you can just work with what you want to work with and hope some folks enjoy it.

I felt Julie-Su was so neglected for the most part, and they kind of dumbed down her personality after a while.. she didn't seem as tough as she used to around the time she started dating Knuckles.
I dunno what's going on with them now, though. I haven't read the Sonic Series in a long time. I'm still upset that they stopped making the Knuckles comics after only 30 something issues, I think it was.

Nice, it brings back nostalgia and a feel that is no longer in the archie comic. I like how you made them put up a bunch of childish bantering (which is to be expected from the chaotix, in sonic X they have the same squabbling, sans mighty

He is a bit. But he's not stupid, he merely takes things as they are and doesn't really have a sense of humor. Not that Mighty does either, but his problem is more a lack of patience. They sort of foil one another.
