And here she comes -- Always one to make a brilliant first impression. I didn't think I would, but I'm finding I really like writing the dialogue for this comic. Ruby's an oddball, and kinda reminds me of Knuckles back in Sonic #13. This was the first issue of the Sonic comic I ever bought, and lo, I was hooked since. These days tho, I have more fun making my own comics.
EDIT: Added a little bit more brightness around the image to show it's not quiiite dark out yet. Hard thing to do considering the dark forest seems to be the backdrop for most of this page. But I assure you, it's getting dark out, LOL
Also, the top panel's text layout was bugging the hell out of me, so I fixed that too.NEXT PAGE: [link]

I've always wanted to do comics but I don't have the skills for it yet (basicly I get lost when trying to come up with how the panels should look like in a page XD) but you have some awesome skills for this!!! I really like how you handle your panels and stuff ^^! awesome pages

Yaaaay for comics that don't suck, lmao! I think I'm going to go homicidal if Ron Lim draws another Archie Sonic comic. I miss your stuff, even when Ken ....... *cough* had his way with it when he inked it.
Are you still drawing things for Archie, btw? It's been awhile since I saw your artwork in there, but you said something in a recent deviation about them being your co-workers, and I wondered if that meant you were still employed. Because that would rock.

Excellent! Great comic page. The layout and character designs are awesome! You do a lot better job with the Sonic characters, when you're allow to do it yourself. Great to see Ruby finally in action. She looks awesome!

I love your colouring style, it seems to have a much different feel to the more "solid" styling of Archie's. Though I recall you talking about that in the last sequence.

I really like the way you did the transparency for Espio's hand there. I don't know why but I really like it...maybe cuz I'm such an oddball. Really nice, I also love your work on perspective, you do a really nice job with that.

I can only hope Ruby doesn't turn into a Mary Sue, it's sorta lookin' like it so far n.n; I'm confident she'll have some presentable flaws later. The wonderful thing to jumping into action right away is that it's perfect for standard-comic action :^D Now I wanna see some explanations after the fight to mix the pace around :^)

She's not really too weak, and I imagine, could take the Chaotix pretty readily. With Mighty clearly out of the picture, even moreso. However, Ruby might have the keen senses of a wild beast, but she doesn't have half the powers Knuckles has. You'll get to see it later, I promise. Gotta build up to something with a "victory" for the "bad guy", afterall.

Actually looking at it now, I see how it flows, but the bottom half of the page could be a little more obvious as such (hence why I left in my initial impression of the page)
Great art, still. doesn't have that odd look of "someone else's" inking screwing with it.
