Description
In tribute to Brian Jacques, author of "the Tales of Redwall" series - recently passed away this year.
An addition to the Great Hall Tapestry, in celebration of the life of a great man. The Recorder of Redwall now holds a place of honour beside Martin the Warrior, the very Spirit of Redwall.
Martin the Warrior is Copyright © Brian Jacques.
(Incidentally, Martin did turn out larger in the image than I intended - but I decided to leave it this way. It's an artist's impression on a tapestry, so I guess it need not be to scale.
Also, the canvas texture is a Photoshop effect - the rest is my own work though)

Indeed, he kind of left a gap in our lives in a way.
And probably a number of gaps in the Redwall canon that need filling in too... but only by true accomplished Redwall-fans who aren't going to write "insert-their-own-character fics"

Well, I remembered from the first Redwall book I ever had - an Illustrated Collector's Edition book of Redwall (celebrating 10 years of Redwall). In the Introduction page, Brian Jacques himself signed himself "Recorder of Redwall"... and hey, in a way it was true!

A really great tribute to a great man. I'm sure from where he is, he's nodding and smiling at his family, friends and fans. And then he'd turn to Father Abbot and say, "I told you the tapestry was important. That's a hundred candied chestnuts you owe me."
