Description
A commission from in exchange for a Core Membership extension.He asked for a scene from an ongoing Redwall RP we've been doing, in which Alex (somehow reverted back to his original raccoon form) and Danbuster have stumbled into the world of Redwall.
In this scene, Alex has become friendly with the resident otters, who have given him some of their spare clothes because it wouldn't be proper for him to run around in just his bare fur.
After sleeping in late, the half-asleep raccoon is given what he believes is coffee to wake him up... only to learn at a critical moment that he's been given a mug of their famously super-spicy hotroot soup!
Even Danbuster is taken aback at the result...
The otters here are Skipper (from the Cookbook) and Winifred (from Redwall and Mattimeo - whom I always figured should also be wearing clothes!)
For the sake of tying in the characters, I decided Winifred must be Skipper's daughter, since they're both seen heading up the otter-crew.
Alex Raccoon belongs to AlexRaccoonGlider

Your headcanon of Skipper being Winifred's dad is kinda like my headcanon of Constance and Orlando the Axe having been a couple at one point.

Heh, indeed... I don't know if Alex realised that, since he was playing his character - though I have to RP everyone else, because I seem to be the one more savvy in the way Redwall works...
But yeah, though I don't really mind Winifred being naked, she kind of has to wear a top-coat in my style because... breasts...
And indeed, the hotroot soup certainly has that effect on anybeast who's not used to it... especially someone like Alex who's not a morning person until he's had his coffee...
Danbuster didn't even care to risk a taste, preferring to instead show the Redwallers how to make a carrot cheesecake, his way...
(If ever Alex and I get back on with this RP and eventually finish it - like if and when his WiFi is finally fixed - I'll have to show you our story?)

*snerk* Yes, I completely understand.
Heck, even some otters get struck down by hotroot soup: in "Salamandastron", Thrugg and his sister Thruggann held a contest to see who could eat the most hotroot pepper in their soup. Thrugg got a fistful, and Thruggann threw in two fistfuls, causing Thrugg to pour a ladle-full into his soup. They started downing the soup, each refusing to get something cold to drink, until finally a tie was called. Then they each rushed to a barrel full of ice-cold drinks and downed them.
Oh goodness, I wonder how one would be able to make a cheesecake in the Redwall-verse, given how they have no fridges?

Heh, yeah... and it's so hard to find other Redwall fans around here... even in school, when I asked if anyone knew about Redwall, they thought I was talking about the modern sit-com Red Dwarf!

What with his connection being hit-and-miss after the hurricane swept by Florida, and his tendency for his seemingly simple RP/story ideas to balloon to gargantuan proportions, it could take a while for a resolution to present itself...

It depends? You mean, if some animal was not only stripped naked but also shaved?
Well, I figure in an old place like that, they have to have somewhere to store vegetables and cheeses... like when we went to Cheddar Gorge, where historically Cheddar cheeses were matured in the consistently cool temperature of the caves...
But either way, as it played out in the RP, the cheesecake proved a hit! Especially with Basil Stag Hare!
Yeah, he's okay... it's just that some tree fell against an electric cable and became dangerous... and they seem to have very lazy technicians who look at it, but don't do anything... like get hold of the electric company to disconnect the power so they can move it...
