DA doesnt seem to display the full size of the tutorial sometimes. In this case, just click on the title of the picture to reload the page or download!Also, thanks a lot for the DD! I feel really honored <333
Got asked a couple of times how I shade with Copics... I'm a -digital- artist, so there is still a lot I need to learn with Copics, but this is the technique I use.
The same technique works for trees, clouds, leafs, folds,... basically anything... xD;
Colors used for the entire picture:
BG10
B23
B24
B32
E04
E50
E51
E53
0
White Ink
White Gel-Pen
0,3 Liners in different colors (blue, black, brown and grey)
Hope this explains about how I do things... Have fun everyone =v=/

what kind of copics do you use? sketch or CIAO? (or both?)

I use both. Started with a set of Sketch markers I got from eBay and whenever I needed a new color, I bought them as Ciao.

I live vicariously through other people, when it comes to copic markers. This is definitely an excellent tutorial, and as someone who has never had the pleasure of using them before, I really feel that I could pick them up and produce something decent, after reading this.
And the last bit about utilizing gel pens... they really are an excellent touch to *any* media. I love them to bits with coloured pencils, and they go great with normal markers and paints! So I can only imagine they're perfect for copics as well!

Thank you very much <3
Yes, gel pens are easy to work with and you can carry them around perfectly. On a picture I want a LOT of details on though, I usually refer to white ink and feathers by now cause you can create a variety of lines/linewidth and using a really good quality ink prevents the color from beneath to shimmer through.

Dang, this is a really nice step-by-step. The photos are great and mostly very clear!
I can't really complain about anything except the format - you made it so we had to scroll down, then back up and to the right repeatedly.
Anyways, congrats on the DD and have a nice day~

Thanks ^^ Yeah, I wanted to make the format longer, but it became too long for DA, so I had the choice between resizing or changing the format xD;;

I just finished a picture using markers for a water-themed contest (which I'm probably not going to win ), and it's really tricky! Your tutorial is really helpful
I love the light ray effects and the surface of the water.
