The last part, about the background, how to do it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

deidaraart5 In reply to BrianChooBrony-Artie [2017-02-02 03:26:35 +0000 UTC]

You put the background layer below all the color and lineart layers for the character ouo)/ (unless that's not what you meant?)

If I am not mistaken, when I put background colour with bucket, it completely covers my art.

Here's an extremely rough example of how your layers should be set up;
gyazo.com/0d6b71148d0242dd07ae…

you don't have to have your character colors merged of course; that's just how i set this specific example up

Whenever I try this, the color goes over the lines a little, just a few pixels, and makes it look really messy. Any way I could prevent this from happening?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

deidaraart5 In reply to Tassuz [2017-01-30 03:49:48 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes if that happens to me I select the outside of the lineart (with the selection width being 1-2 px) and then hit delete to get rid of the extra color with no fuss

Oh, thank you! I'll try that.

stale-butterscotch In reply to ??? [2017-01-28 14:49:21 +0000 UTC]

How do u put the base color down without selecting or having to try not to go outside of the lines?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

deidaraart5 In reply to stale-butterscotch [2017-01-28 15:14:10 +0000 UTC]

Usually I just magic wand the outside of the lines and then invert the selection, but if the lineart is messy (like a pencil sketch or something) I'll just manually line the very edge of the whole figure, then bucket tool in the color

If you don't mind me asking, what brush did you use for the lineart/where did you get it?

I can't find an available graphite brush anywhere.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

deidaraart5 In reply to HyperGurl4010 [2016-12-27 16:38:27 +0000 UTC]

Oh it was a custom brush I made ages ago! However if you have a free medibang account you can download a cloud brush called pencil (rough) which looks similar and works well ouo)/

i cant seem to find anything for this, bu twhen your coloring, you have the two colors by the wheel. how to you get to the bottom/ secondary color? i cant seem to select it to change the color

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

deidaraart5 In reply to Kxroha [2016-12-06 02:10:42 +0000 UTC]

I'm pretty sure you just need to click on the bottom square to swap them?? If that doesn't work, save your file and then restart the program and try again

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kxroha In reply to deidaraart5 [2016-12-06 02:15:35 +0000 UTC]

if i save and restart, wont it merge my layers?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

deidaraart5 In reply to Kxroha [2016-12-06 02:16:53 +0000 UTC]

Not if you save the file as PSD or MDP!

and now that i finally got the color problem fixed :'), when i clipped a layer above the layer i was coloring the hair in, and it wont show up anywhere? the color just wont show, and i clipped the layer over the line art like it said, but it only colored the lines ,and when i clipped it above my hair layer, it colored nothing? (im using a png background)

deidaraart5 In reply to Kxroha [2016-12-06 02:35:55 +0000 UTC]

You clip it to your base color, not your lineart!

i.gyazo.com/f744bbab8771aea233… This might help you
