Beware of the HUGE picture!Lately I've been complimented a lot about my lineart... so I thought I should share my way of digital inking with you ^^

awesome tut just what i was looking for !!!! if you check out the sketch on my gallery i pose this exact question xD. Anyways i just have one more question in the clean up stage do you just use an eraser and take out the thickness of the lines?if so how do you make sure you do it evenly? without leaving oads of bits really thin or thick, any help would be great

oh, I just play around with the thickness XD;;; I don't try to make the line even, I like it with some thick parts and some other thin parts ^^
*celesse has a painter inking tutorial that gives out tips on where to put thich lines and where to put the thin ones, you should check it out =3

Thanks so much. I've looked for tutorials like this for so long... I was convinced that people somehow got all that amazing lineart from just the tablet and was going to go insane, lol. Thanks again, all the tuts on here are very well done and easy to follow.

glad u found it useful ^^ I've been practicing to make my lineart with just the tablet and it's starting to work, but for ppl who has shaky hands or doesn't have a tablet the oen tool is the best way =3

Very helpful! I have the shakey hands as well. It drives me nuts and keeps me from truely enjoying inking. Tutorieal gets an A+ (or +fav, har!) from me~

I don't have CS, will it still work? I need to cell shade good so I can make fan art/cartoons that look like real animation stills. this line art is a good start I gess.

I wanted to thank you. I have been using that technique now and it really improves the pictures. I have posted two pics using that technique and am doing a complicated one right now. Not bad. I like inking by hand and now and then do line art on the comp. I personaly dispise the pen tool. I rather burn it.

pen tool is useful for those who have a hand that is too shaky to ink by hand and/or using a tablet. This was meant to be a help for that kind of people

Looking back at ur drawing and much closer, brown lineart does give those nice look on them. Me wanna use this method too!! XD Thankz for putting up this tutorial, just what i need to improve my CG skill and especially i too have shaky hand like yours.

when i first saw the finnished image i though, i bet it was done using the pen tool... i can never get used to using the pen tool, it seems so tedius. nice tutorial though! ^^

Awesome turtorial. But. . .I've run into a problem. >.< That darn pentool!! *strangles pentool* My hand's too shaky and uncooperative to use the brush tool, but I just can't figure out how to work pentool. -.- It's a enigma. If it's not too much trouble, could you tell me how to use it? . . .Or make a turtorial on how to use it?
(btw, I love the pic. ^^ Until I saw this, I didn't think I would ever consider those freaky FMA cats cute. The whole pic's super kawaii.)

humm.. I tried to explain as best as I could haow to use the pentool in the tutorial =x... try re-reding it following every step (I have recieved notes from few ppl having problems with pentool because they haven't setted it right as said in the tutorial
If you are still getting problems with the pen tool, please note me or something with the description of your problem and a screensot, so I could help you better =3
