Out of curiosity, do you have any idea what the max vertex count is?

Yeah, a friend and I were testing it this weekend and we came to the conclusion that if it's pmx and the pc doesn't crash, anything goes! :V Some guy on a forum supposedly loaded a model with 1mil+ polys fine (but laggy), so that pretty much shut us up lmao

Thanks for the extra confirmation tho lol

How do you see the vertex count? Like, how do you know how many vertices there are?

The very second tab in the editor. There's a number above a big box full of numbers. That's your vertex count.Β

Well, perfect tutorial and my model is clean, but..when i exported it to pmd (I use PMX) it looks like this:Β sta.sh/013lydo34b9w

It has too high vertex count. Keep it PMX.Β

I don't know what it's doing. I'm sorry. I'm not much of an expert on installing things.....

ohh well thanks anyways. I was wondering If you new anything about why the model I am editing. the hair at the front tips stretches down to his toes and keeps going past them. Β I dont know how to fix them.. i'd really appreciate itΒ if you could help me.Β

Ah that's an extra vertex problem. The tutorial we're commenting on is one way to help the problem. Another would be to turn your model into PMX format instead of PMD. PMX can handle more vertex than PMD can.Β

ohh OWO ill have to look that up. also when I add motion data the front of his hair moves up and down all strange. is that the same thing??

DesertDraggon In reply to Dat-Auri-El [2014-09-18 20:12:29 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm it depends what's going on. It could be the physics being weird. It could also be how the hair is weighted. I would make sure they're either all weighted to the head bone, or make sure it's weighted properly to the hair bones? idk.Β

im not sure how to do that. I'm still very new to pmd and mmd I just got the pmd editor thats mixed with pmx English. do you have a made tutorial for weighing the bones to hair? or know of one?Β

Hahahahah, thanks a lot for the tut xDΒ

My model turned into a kite monster whenever I put on accessories on her u w u And I thought it was the accessories fault ;w;

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DesertDraggon In reply to StekinoMai [2014-03-29 00:16:34 +0000 UTC]

Well sometimes it is the accessories! You need to be careful and check all parts at all times for extra vertex, bones, physics, and joints. That way you're models are always clean and easily manageable and don't crash! Also watch your vertex count. You can have high vertex, but you'll want to switch it to PMX if you want to keep high vertex and not have a kite monster. oowoo it's time consuming but worth it.
