Description
lots of people have been learning to model and stuff lately, so I figured I'd make a tutorial on rigging. its hard to explain tho so please don't ask me to explain it better e-e. I'd have to show you. so go get skype and I shall attempt to do so if you wish. but if you give up to easy I wont help you >->. modeling takes persistence and patience as well as the will to force yourself to complete it.The model used is an OC. its not done. it needs belts added, and obviously a head.
and I'm using "PMDEditor_0100" if you'd like I can reupload that versions since its about a half a year old. I hate the newer once since you can't remove the damn annoying circle thingy.
Now back to watching Kaitou Siant Tail \ o /

Start from the upper body, go along the spine then reach the neck, and rig neck (plus head) then on head bone, ONLY HEAD.Β
I can rig heads, but the bends of limbs is my issue lol

Hello! Your turorial is really helpful. ^^ I still have to ask something though: how do I rig pants? ewe This may be a kinda stupid question but I'm a hell of a newbie when it comes to PMD Editor... >< I've been trying to attach short shorts to my model with this method but it didn't work as I expected it to. Could you please help me? :3

I hope this is not a silly question, but...
Suppose I have a model in .obj format. How would I go about turning that into a pmd so I can rig it up?

acutally, PMXe opens OBJ

If you modeled it in blender, there is this MMD tools for blender to convert it to .X file to go into pmd/pmx. If its in Metaseq, if you have a standard licence, the program has a thing where it exports it to pmd. Hope that helped!

I found ! Exemple Go to the clipboard (in bone sure) and :
arm1: Parent -> shoulder, child -> arm2
arm2: Parent -> arm 1,Β Β Β Β Β child -> hand.
hand:ETC......
Now try and normally that's work (if you have any problem you can note me)

And if you rig the bone arm1 : Just rig the part of you want the vertex moving. JUST THE PART OF THE BODY (bones can't have the same vertex in rigging)

I dunno if you're still having the problem, but it means those polygons aren't rigged. or perhaps are rigged to the wrong part. Its a common and easy mistake, you gotta find the spots that aren't rigged to fix it. (sorry for late reply I don't get on this account much)
