Description I don't think most people are having problems with vertex normals, but I was gonna make this anyways.

Do you know how to separate vertex?

Wampa842 In reply to Dudemon [2014-02-03 11:29:42 +0000 UTC]

Of course. I'll try to explain, but I'll make a tutorial as well.

First thing to do is make sure only ONE layer is selected in the layer list. Otherwise it won't work.

Select the vertices you wish to separate.

Right click on the selected layer, then click on the item that has (Ctrl+S) at the end. A new layer below the original will be created. Since there is now one more layer, the last one in the list will also be selected, uncheck it before you repeat.

Beware: the vertices will not be separated into two individuals, they will only belong to different layers. Their normals and position will be the same. To truly separate them, you have to export, delete, and re-import the separated part.

I'll make a more extensive tutorial to explain all aspects of separation.

What do you mean? Do you get some kind of error message like "model init failed" or something?

QVxVCTxZero In reply to Wampa842 [2012-07-18 12:07:15 +0000 UTC]

No, more like it's not as bright, toons don't show up on the model and neither do spas

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Wampa842 In reply to QVxVCTxZero [2012-07-18 12:14:47 +0000 UTC]

Yes, yes, I see what's the problem. My parents' computer has the same problem: the graphics card doesn't support pixel shaders. If your CPU is good enough, it could be used to process shaders, but that would require a lot of other resources.

QVxVCTxZero In reply to Wampa842 [2012-07-18 12:30:48 +0000 UTC]

My CPU is a dual core. My graphics card is integrated. I'm guessing it's the graphics card

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Wampa842 In reply to QVxVCTxZero [2012-07-18 12:55:36 +0000 UTC]

There's a program called 3D Analyze that can emulate better graphics cards.
[link]
DO NOT install it in the default directory, use another like C:\3DAnalyze
Run the program, then click the big Select button. [link] Navigate to PMDEditor.exe or whatever you'd like to run.
Choose a device from the circled list, then set the DeviceID and VendorID fields as you see under the device name.
Don't tinker with the checkboxes, I have no idea what they do
Click Run and you're done.
I can't guarantee that it'll work, but it's worth a try.
