Continuing with my deviations from the original, here's where we finally start getting down to brass tacks in what's about to happen between Kirk and Sue, while Spock and the good doctor along with all the other shore leave parties are having all of their fun.

Sue's personal quarters are located on Deck 7 instead of with most of the rest of the officers up on Decks 3 and 4 so she can be close to Sickbay in case she's needed in an emergency. Common practice for medical personnel on a ship. BTW this was originally supposed to been the case with McCoy's too in TOS, although it was written out of one of the early episodes during the script revision process and eventually forgotten.

FYI Sue's civilian outfit was borrowed and modded slightly from Seska the Orion's from Star Trek Online (STO). Kirk's is a straight reuse of Conrad Hart's default outfit from the classic video game Flashback: The Quest for Identity.

only three places to eat on the whole planet - Standalone restaurants, that is. After all, Rhinegelt is a frontier planet. Those don't exactly specialize in four star eating establishments, you know. It's probably got plenty of bars, though, and many of those serve food too, but we're talking about straight places to eat here.

Ah, so Kirk did have an ulterior motive for the dinner with Sue after all, only it wasn't what everyone expected (his own personal form of "hunting," nudge-nudge). Can't forget that personal policy of his, as Sue points out. No getting serious with his subordinates and all that.

Who was it that told you? McCoy? Janice? - One of the few times in STNV that Kirk will call Rand by her first name.
