it is not as clean as my way, also it will take colors from the background, which is not good at some points. Yes you can put it on multiply but if you want to color your lineart after you finish with coloring (i usually do that in order to make lineart look and blend softer in some parts) you will face the problems when line will be bolder than you wanted to cos of other colors that color range selection have picked up. most of times, when i dun need to color lineart or color it in one color (brown lineart for example) i just duplicate it and set to multiply.

You could just use it as a multiply layer and change the hue and saturation levels.

And if you need to change lineart colors in different part of it?

I stopped at 'make new channel'. For some reason I can't paste image onto the channel.
I'm uing a Gimp btw. I appreciate it if you can give advice on that

never seen GIMP. Not even once. try to make a copy of your image, convert it to grayscale and copy and paste in new channel... it is only my guessing anyway.

хитро. )) Я раньше делал также, только с маской. В маску слоя пихал его же инвертированный.
А теперь не парюсь, просто ставлю рисунок в multiply, и крашу под ним ))
