Second task of session 16 of OC-training !

Body type: Athletic, big thighs due to horseback riding, but otherwise on the thin side
Occupation: Sorceress

Rysta is the only child of Kenyon and Riana Eachen (OC-Training session 7 OC Training Journal - Summer 2017 ), horse ranchers who helped and hid several of the Transformed, including her own Grandfather. Her parents were killed in front of her by the Wizard Shok'Artel (OC-Training session 13 OC-Training Round 13 - Shok'Artel ) when she was 8 years old. She taken to safety by Aardrin (in his horse form) to his Grandfather, the Wizard Tiernan. Aardrin (OC-Training last session OC Training Round 15 - Aardrin ) swore at that time that he would be a big brother to her and Tiernan gave her an amulet to protect her from Shok and any other threat. She never takes it off. At Tiernan’s Grove she was trained as a Sorceress and swore she would destroy the man who killed her parents.

When she turned 16 she was powerful enough to forge her own wand, a sharp metal object that helped her cast spells and was tuned specifically to her through the fact that she forged it herself.

At the age of 20 she was sent off by Tiernan with Aardrin and their companion, Yokov, to rescue Prince Calaen (OC-Training session 12 OC Training Session 12 - Summer/Fall 2020 ), the reincarnation of King Raghnall.

Rysta doesn't realize that she's the reincarnation of Queen Eriantielle (Raghnall's wife), and when she does find out she's in complete denial of it for a long time. She and Calaen have a VERY awkward relationship for a great deal of the story due to that and a bunch of other stuff (mostly due to Calaen's behavior when they first met).

All right, time to tackle the Guess Who picture!

Rysta's pose is supposed to show how she is encumbered and fighting all the forces tying her down and how frustrating a futile the fight is.

Ghost/Spirit - That imposing spirit is Queen Eriantielle, a powerful sorceress when she was alive and the person Rysta was reincarnated from. The Queen's death was a violent one and so she is a very vengeful entity, trying to control Rysta's reactions and force her to do what SHE wants rather than what would be best for Rysta. Rysta does her best to either fight Eriantielle's control or at least negotiate, she is not always successful. I tried to show that she was less benevolent than King Raghnall, and it does look that way when you see Rysta and Calaen's Guess Who pictures together - but as a stand alone it didn't quite work, sorry

Right Hand, Eriantielle's Wand - Most of you guessed that this was a dagger and you're sort of right. The magic wands in my world resemble very fancy daggers. The metal helps to store and focus the magic, while the jewels can store and collect magic for later use. Every mage makes their own wand (except types like Shok, but they get their power in a different way :ick: ) When a mage makes their wand they put a lot of their own power into it, making it a very personal weapon. It's also sharp so that it can be used as a weapon of defense if the magic is used up or as a knife to aid in spells that use blood (all mages use blood for spells, the difference is the ethical ones only use their own). Normally another mage would be unable to use someone else's wand, but because Rysta is Eriantielle's reincarnation, Rysta can and does use Eriantielle's wand. It's very useful because it is magically tied to Calaen's sword and can alert Rysta if Calaen is in trouble (Calaen's sword can do the same for him if Rysta is in trouble). She isn't gripping it very tightly although Eriantielle is trying to force her to claim it fully.

Left Hand, Rysta's Wand - Another dagger like wand, but this one is the one Rysta made for herself. A mage is not considered completely trained until they have made their own wand, which requires both spell casting and blacksmithing that has to be done by the mage themselves in order to get a wand that works well for them. It's in her left hand to show how she's trying to keep her sense of self while dealing with being the reincarnation of someone else. This is the representation of Rysta as her own person, less fancy and more practical than Eriantielle's, but still powerful.

Amulet - A lot of you noticed that this amulet looks like the one Aardrin wore in the last session, and you're right! It looks the same because the person who made it (Tiernan) is a bit lazy when it comes to design It was given to Rysta when she first arrived at Tiernan's. He told her that it would protect her from the wizard who killed her parents and to never remove it. So she wears it all the time (I suspect that Tiernan put a little spell on it to make sure she never wanted to remove it). It protects her by hiding her mage aura so that no one can tell that she's a Sorceress. It also keeps Eriantielle under control, up until it is destroyed, then things get complicated. When Aardrin's amulet was made, Tiernan tied it to Rysta's so the two of them could communicate mind to mind at a distance when Aardrin was a horse. As such it's a connection to Aardrin and Tiernan.

Ribbon - This is to show Rysta's tie to the reincarnation of Raghnall, Calaen. This is a connection that neither of them accepts initially, but Rysta moreso because she hates the idea of being forced into something, especially since she has no intention of being anything but a traveling sorceress.

Clothing - Rysta spends a great deal of time on horseback, thus the breeches instead of skirts. Her leather bodice is decorated with horseshoes to symbolize her connection to horses, as her parents were horse ranchers.

That's all I got. Kind of tied my own hands with this one insisting that it connect to Calaen's Guess Who, and I know I made mistakes not showing the amulet or the wands glowing Thank you for all your guesses! If you've read this far, go back to Rysta's Guess Who! I added a bit of writing!
