I really love this piece of artwork.
It shows so much yet it's so simple. I love the movement of the background and the way it flows over Set's hand adds so much depth as if it were a sandstorm.
The poses are very nice and appropriate for the scene, and the blood is very well done.
1 thing I would like to point out is that it is a little unclear to me as to where Set struck Horus. I see the blood from the lost eye, but I don't see any remains of it to show that is what this is. Other than that, this piece is truly amazing

I think the god is "Seth" not 'Set'. I didnt know Horus lost an eye.

I think it can be spelled both ways
And yeah, Horus lost an eye, which was replaced with an eye of moonlight "The Eye of Horus"
...or something like that

Horus got off easy in this fight. Horus lost his eye, Set lost his "package"

i was almost expecting a eye somewhere to be flying in the sand storm. when set ripped out horuses eye, thoth gave him a new eye, made of moonlight. this eye is known as the eye of horus. XD i love being an Egyptian smartass!

Set lost his left testicle. But Anubis totally beat his ass and skinned him alive when Set tried to desecrate Osiris's body for the second time (his third assault). Since then, one of Anubis's many symbols has been a headless, bloody animal skin upon a pole.

I love the picture, but also, depending on the story, it was said Isis stabbed Horus's eye, just some interesting trivia

LOVE this work. Wonderful composition and flow.
One nitpick though: I believe it was his left eye that was gouged out.

This makes me want to see Thor and Horus team up to defeat their respective villains.

Great anatomy, color choice, and dynamism! I love your depiction of the "Typhonian animal" too: Set really looks like some long-forgotten creature.
You could probably do a nice depiction of Hathor healing Horus's eyes with her milk, too, if you don't mind inviting the hentai crowd....

Great piece! You said it was rushed and I'm not trying to be rude but must note, because Egyptian is my favored mythology; Horus loses his left eye. Thoth retrieved it, and with his magic, healed it with (with the other gods) and brought it back to Horus and it became the Lunar eye.
It was only due to Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt feuding, that Sutekh (Seth) was lowered and brought to Devil status. He was riding with Ra in the holy barge to protect him against Apep (Chaos).
Also noted, at the end of it all, Sutekh and Horus actually reconciled and became one Being. The Double Headed One. Seeing and knowing of Light and Darkness. However, must say AWESOME piece! Kudos!

Great picture.
Bento-- Set can be depicted as a falcon-headed man as well-- synchronicity is why you have to check names on inscriptions. There's a famous carving of Setekh, falcon-headed and with wings spread, taking on evil with his spear. Set can be shown with the head of the was-beast, the falcon, the crocodile or hippo. There's even other goddesses and gods that have the was-beast head. Hetepsabet, an hour of the night, is one such goddess. And yeah, Chris is right-- Heru and Setekh do synchronize into the Nubti. I do argue with his definition of Apep though-- Apep is the nothingness that lacks even the idea of void. Total destruction and non-existence. It lives only for the sound of its own roaring. Set is the lord of chaos and destruction insomuch as both things are required for creation and new life. That what makes them different. Set is creative chaos-- the desk of an author, the studio of an artist, the remains of a building that's been bulldozed and demolished, the culling of the wheat at harvest --- he makes it possible for new life to be by destroying that which is no longer essential.

Very awesome. Haha, Set will get what's coming to him very soon, lol. Both Set AND Nephthys lost, if you catch my drift.

Unsure about Set's snout. True you may not have had much to go on as Egyptian art is usually 2d, still...
However, poor Horus's despair... you've painted it very well
One more comment... It might pay to give Horus some legs too please. He is a god after all.
