The Spiritcase is a native to Montejoja, who's main defining feature is there shape and there fruit. There fruit, known as a spirit fruit, is a fleshy fruit similar in consistency to that of an unpeeled orange, but is white and smells fragrant. The way they produce this fragrance is through a small group of nectaries that stay active all year round but now longer produce nectar, and they are located around the top of a trunk like branch, which produce a large flower, which can be pollinated by a myriad of things. After being pollinated, the flower dies and becomes a large, circular fruit. The fruit is easy to disconnect, so animals can quickly pull it off, but this also means its easy for it to fall off during storms or high winds. So the spiritcase grows its branches in a way so that the fruit is surrounded by branches on all four sides, with the top being largely opened up so animals can reach down and eat it.
