Erp, I lied. I didn't do that, it was my friend. Don't know why I wrote "I".

Perhaps it was your subconscious

Wow, seems I wasn't as original as I thought - but I swear I didn't see it before. Oh well... the more tutorials on tutorials, the better I guess. Thanks for the link

mithrandirff7 In reply to ??? [2007-06-18 09:40:23 +0000 UTC]

Very interesting. It would certainly make it easier on organization-lovers if people would categorize their "tutorials" appropriately, but there can be so many fine lines between the three types... I enjoyed reading this. I have been thinking of making a few tutorials here and there, but I didn't want to make unspecific junk. Thanks for helping to make one less thing complicated! xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eilorendil In reply to mithrandirff7 [2007-06-29 13:12:40 +0000 UTC]

You're very welcome I agree that it's often difficult to categorize "tutorials". I just realized that it often depends on the experience of the reader too. A well-written, detailed walk-through for a newbie can be as good as a tutorial for an experienced artist.

Ah well.

Thanks for the comment

And I really like the little font,, like "...somehow, that sounded perverse..." ;D;D good saying, and good font , What is it ^^?

Yeah, I really liked that part too The font is "Bradley Hand ITC" - I think it's a default font on most computers.

haha - thanks, sweetie. I wasn't really sure how this would be received. I didn't expect people to say they enjoyed reading it - after all, it's not the most common comment on tuts. Thanks

well... at first I just thought it'd be something written for fun, nothing serious - then it became a serious thing that was fun to write. If that even makes sense Thanks.

shatteredkid In reply to ??? [2007-06-18 08:05:35 +0000 UTC]

I've never written a tutorial in my life, and I'm unsure if there's anything that I can share that even needs to be tutored at the present time - but this was extremely helpful.

I was actually about to go to bed (it's 4am) before I went onto deviantart to check out the new submissions and if any of my subscriptions submitted anything new - and I clicked on your deviation.

I'll fav it, just incase I'll ever need it - or, if someone is looking through my favourites and wants to learn how to write a good tutorial, they won't need to look very far.

Eilorendil In reply to shatteredkid [2007-06-19 13:56:03 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the fav, and for the comment. And hey - even if you've never written a tut before, doesn't mean you can't do it I remember I began writing tuts about a year after I started with Photoshop. It wasn't anywhere near as big and well-planned as my recent tuts, and it was only on how I made a certain little signature.

Anyhow, just drop a note or something if you make one. And thanks again.

Red. I'm so jealous of you I almost hate you. 2 DD's and I don't have one. Gratz great tutorial by the way. Text tutorial is still your best.

Eilorendil In reply to Cookthechef [2007-06-18 07:57:27 +0000 UTC]

Don't be : - there are alot of great artists on dA that should have DDs that don't. And thanks - I agree on the text tut, but unfortunately I wouldn't be allowed to post it unless I tracked all those artists down and made them say where they got their stock and renders from.

ps: got your message on Sal's btw - unfortunately 2 days after you sent it
