Description
Who will prevail? Will the dragon sleep with a full stomach tonight to await the next brave fool or.... will the noble knight swim in riches, fame and glory?Practicing somethings I have learned while watching some tutorials online.
100% imagination, no references. I used a texture overlay for the cave walls
Below is how the painting first started for those interested. I can't say how many times I drew and redrew the dragon's scales. Still not happy with it, but it is better than my previous attempts.

He has wonderful eyes!
And the way you drawed the fire and the lightning effects look very authentic!
Keep up the good work!

I know this is a bit old lol, but thanks a lot for the comment. I am only just seeing it now because it seems you replied to someone else's comment. I am revamping this painting now that I know a bit more than I did back then. I hope you get to see it

Thank you very much! I think I was most proud of the fire and the knight's armor. The dragon's scale I was not very pleased with

Well the dragon is there just minding it's own business, not bothering anyone, and along comes this guy hell bent on finishing him off!!

hi there! Your first sketch looks more interesting to me (just in composition of course). I like the color and effect of the fire and also the smoke, but I think that claw on the right looks quite odd. Maybe you can put it on a rock or something, like a hand of someone who is trying to pull him up. And also there is something odd too on the way the fire gets out of the mouth. Maybe the dragon should have the mouth a bit more opened.
Nice work anyway! Just giving a piece of advice to improve it!

Thanks for the feedback! I liked the original composition as well but decided to change it because I thought it would be silly for the dragon to burn it's own hand while trying to mulit-task (i.e flame breath and claw the knight at the same time). I see what you are talking about for both the breath and right claw. The claw would be an easy fix, the mouth on the other hand would be too painful at my current skill level. Ultimately I need to learn a lot more about perspective and horizon lines.
Thanks once again for the advice
