Description
This is a design sheet for Moon Dancer as they appear in my Equestria Girls fan-fiction series I am working on. It's still a work in progress and is subject to changes and revision, and I will be releasing bits and pieces of information with each entry before I move onto the real thing. You can read more about what I have so far by following the links listed at the bottom of the image description, and it's recommended to read them in order. They are members of a secret global organization known as the Technological Consortium, which has been safeguarding Humanity from various magical, supernatural and technological threats for centuries.
THE FAN-SERIES
I am in the process of writing a road-map and world building for a fan-fiction series of Equestria Girls. Basically, I am writing it like a television series which acts as a sequel to where the original left off, made-up of 2 series', comprised of 5 seasons each, and each season consisting of at least 26 episodes, with a movie serving as the finale. It will be written in the style and tone of the actual show. It's basically what I would do if I was the writer for the actual Equestria Girls series. I do not actually plan on writing full episodes, as that would take too much time and effort, but I may produce a few scripts for some episodes. Instead I write my fan-series in an episodic, synopsis style which details events.
BACKSTORY
Moon Dancer is the Childhood Friend of Twilight Sparkle, but the two went on separate paths when they enrolled at difference schools. The two have kept in touch for the last 10 years sporadically.
PERSONALITY
Moon Dancer is quite cheerful, but prone to speaking her mind, sometimes in ways that may seem hurtful or inconsiderate to others, but to her she is just speaking facts. She tends to take a neutral, unbiased and analytical stance on everything. Unlike her Equestrian counterpart, she was never truly separated from and forgotten by her friend Twilight Sparkle, resulting in a huge divergence in personality and outlook.
CASUAL ATTIRE
Moon Dancer's preferred style of dress, which maintains a sophisticated and learned air.
BASE UNIFORM
The standard uniform of Consortium members when stationed within one of their bases.
OPERATIONS
Operatives typically wear something like this when on a mission that does not involve being in disguise or hiding in plain sight. The insignia on the left arm signifies the operatives speciality and role, and in Moon Dancer's case, she is a Scientist.
CLASS: SCIENTIST
Scientists serve their organization and team as the ones who analyse new data and usually lead efforts to create countermeasures against threats or situations arising in the field. The Technological Consortium expects much more from the majority of it's Scientists, and all of them receive at least some kind of physical training, after all, more lives than theirs may depend on their fitness and competency. As her teams Scientist, she is expected to be the one to lead any efforts to understand and overcome potentially or confirmed dangerous threats her team may encounter, as well as to unravel the more complex scientific and paranormal mysteries they may come across.
VIRTUE: KNOWLEDGE
In Season 4, 10 members of the Consortium gain "Virtues", which are the Consortium's versions of the Elements of Harmony, which they will use to help the Rainbooms defeat a powerful Enemy at the end of Season 4. Moondancers Virtue is Knowledge, granting her magical power derived from her dedication to the acquiring, preserving and spreading of knowledge.
IN THE FAN SERIES
Moon Dancer is one of the more important members of her team, due to her background with Twilight Sparkle. She first appears in the season 1 multi-part season finale, and has a number of important roles to play, but typical non story-centric episodes involving her revolve around her relationship with Twilight in some way, including meeting with Twilight in secret during series 1 to hang out, delving into their past as childhood Friends and meeting with her Equestrian counterpart when the two Twilights decide they'd like them to meet.
Season 1
Moon Dancer is scheduled to appear in the two-part finale of Season 1, when she sends Twilight a message that she is coming to visit, which will be the first time in years they have met face to face, and halfway through she reveals to Twilight that she is a member of the Technological Consortium, and that she wants Twilight to join them so they can be together again. Twilight Sparkle rebukes the offer initially, but over the span of the series, she has thoughts about how things might be if she did join and could be with her old friend again. Twilight Sparkle and Moon Dancer remain friends, but accept that they are on opposite sides and must do what they think is right, even if it means being in opposition of each other. In later seasons throughout series 1, the two occasionally meet to hang out in secret, when they concede that their friendship is stronger than the pull of duty.
Season 5
Season 5 will be what I call the "World Tour" season. At the conclusion of the Season 4 multi-part premier, the Rainbooms will finally do something to anger the Consortium to such a degree they attempt to arrest them. The Rainbooms then go on the run and travel the world as they try to fix their mistake and find a way to make peace with the Consortium. For more information on this event, see the Dazzlings entry.
Throughout season 5, Moon Dancer secretly contacts Twilight and gives them insider information to help the Rainbooms in their quest, with Moon Dancer trying to find ways to make peace between the Rainbooms and the Consortium, and has been covertly digging around for anything she can use, at the risk of being discovered and branded a traitor and spy. She discovers communications between the Leaders of the Consortium which mention that their Supreme Leader wants Twilight Sparkle specifically over the other Rainbooms, as they have special plans for her. At some point, when the Consortium, including Team Flare, tracks down the Rainbooms and is about to close in on them, Twilight uses this information, offering herself up as a distraction so her Friends can escape.
At the end of Season 5, the Rainbooms and the Consortium, along with many other Allies, join forced to defeat the main Enemy of Season 5, known for now as the Lord of Darkness. After this, the Consortium forgives the Rainbooms and they become permanent Allies, the two groups now working together. Twilight and Moon Dancer are beyond happy that their two sides have made peace, and re-double their efforts to spend time with each other much more openly.
Season 6+
Season 6 marks the beginning of Series 2. Two years have passed since the Series 1 finale, and most of the Rainbooms, Team Flare, and other characters, have began their first terms at Tambelon University, which will be replacing Canterlot High as the primary school setting. Canterlot High will still appear as some episodes will focus on the Cutie Mark Crusaders who are still attending Canterlot High. With the Rainbooms and the Consortium now Allies, she no longer has to meet with Twilight in secret to hang out with her, and that she can now openly team up with her old Friend to help defend the world.
THE TECHNOLOGICAL CONSORTIUM
The primary recurring antagonists of Series 1, turned Allies in series 2, with a strong presence in every season. The Technological Consortium, or just "The Consortium" for short, is a secret global organization which runs most of what goes on in the world from behind the scenes. They investigate, hunt, and police the mystical and supernatural elements of the world, but they also deal with other threats like Rogue Scientists, AI's, Super Villains, Aliens, dangerous technology and other dangerous elements and natural or unnatural, disasters. Think of the Consortium as a combination of The Men in Black, the SCP Foundation and the Technocratic Union from Mage: The Ascension. Members are often referred to as "Techs" by outsiders, such as the Rainbooms.
The Technological Consortium is lead by it's supreme and enigmatic leader, from a position known as "The Supreme Scientist", who is said to always be the most intelligent and wise Person of their time.

In my series, the Consortium will frequently be at odds with the Rainbooms and Equestria, who they see as rogue elements and potential threats. The Consortium has been watching the Rainbooms for quite some time, and have been assisting them from behind the scenes in hopes that the Equestrian problem will resolve itself, while taking steps to perform damage control or commit resources to backup plans should the Rainbooms fail. For example, they were prepared to step in during the initial Sunset Shimmer and Midnight Sparkle incidents before those things resolved themselves. Sometimes their assistance was absolutely necessary, such as during the Sirens incident, where they sent one of their young operatives, Vinyl Scratch, to free the Rainbooms and provide them with aid against The Dazzlings. Did you think Vinyl Scratch just so happened to show up with a giant transforming sound-stage equipped car...?

Wow, interesting. So not only is this Moondancer an agent, but she also never truly split with or was forgotten by Twilight? Yep, definite AU territory here, and I like it. ^_^

I'm glad you like it, an recurring theme is going to be not just the similarities between counterparts in the two worlds, but their differences, as well. Princess Twilight, during her visits(which are going to be more frequent) is particularly interested in investigating and documenting these things.

Differences can definitely be interesting. Sometimes it's the littlest changes that can have the biggest impacts, after all.
Also, glad to know that there's gonna be more appearances/visits by Princess Twilight. I've missed that as the franchise went on.
