Description
This is a design sheet for an original character called "The Supreme Scientist", as they appear in my Equestria Girls fan-fiction series I am working on. It's still a work in progress and is subject to changes and revision, and I will be releasing bits and pieces of information with each entry before I move onto the real thing. You can read more about what I have so far by following the links listed at the bottom of the image description, and it's recommended to read them in order.

The Supreme Scientist is the current Leader of a secretive global organization known as the Technological Consortium, which has been safeguarding Humanity from various magical, supernatural and technological threats for centuries.

THE FAN-SERIES

I am in the process of writing a road-map and world building for a fan-fiction series of Equestria Girls. Basically, I am writing it like a television series which acts as a sequel to where the original left off, made-up of 2 series', comprised of 5 seasons each, and each season consisting of at least 26 episodes, with a movie serving as the finale. It will be written in the style and tone of the actual show. It's basically what I would do if I was the writer for the actual Equestria Girls series. I do not actually plan on writing full episodes, as that would take too much time and effort, but I may produce a few scripts for some episodes. Instead I write my fan-series in an episodic, synopsis style which details events.

BACKSTORY
The title of "Supreme Scientist" is the highest station within the Technological Consortium. It is a position granted to a promising individual within the organization after extensive mentoring from both the current Supreme Scientist and their second in command/s. In this case, the current Supreme Scientist was mentored by their predecessor and the A.I Super-Computer Connoisseur. When a Supreme Scientist is appointed, they for the most part forgo the use of their original name and are simply called "The Supreme Scientist" by everyone. Outsiders usually never learn who they are, and most members of the Consortium never learn who it was who was chosen until a later date, usually towards the end of their time as Leader, when their accomplishments are logged into the historical archives.

The current Supreme Scientist, name unknown to all save for the previous Leader and Connoisseur, leads with a pragmatic sense of balance, neither considering himself good or evil, although most who have met him would agree he leans towards good. He has lead the Consortium for roughly 40 years. He spends most of his time engaged in deep contemplation, unfathomably advanced and complex experiments, and developing technology that pushes the boundaries of what most consider possible. An increasingly growing amount of their time however is spent exploring space, time and other dimensions such as the Astral Plane, for it is every Supreme Scientists duty to explore the very fringes of reality itself and expand our knowledge of the cosmos. The Supreme Scientist has access to a secret laboratory hidden somewhere on the planet, the location of which is known only to the Supreme Scientists throughout the Consortium's history. It is here that they conduct their enigmatic research, experiments and explorations.

Presently, they are approaching a phase in every Supreme Scientists time as Leader when their "wanderlust" consumes them, when they explore the outer boundaries of space, time and reality so deeply that it takes up most of their time, and they will eventually become lost in their explorations. At this point it is no longer feasible for them to properly manage the Consortium. As such, it is around this time that a Supreme Scientist begins searching for their replacement, and the current Supreme Scientist has a particular young intellectual in mind – Twilight Sparkle! Although she has never told anyone, the Human version of Sunset Shimmer deeply covets the position of Supreme Scientist, and the Supreme Scientist has suspected this.

When they return to the world to conduct business and issue orders, it is done at length as part of a meeting of the highest ranking members of the Consortium, and the entire organization becomes abuzz with the news that the Supreme Scientist himself is returning, many with hopes of meeting them. They sometimes address everyone across the organization through a live-feed with inspirational words, and a lucky few get to actually attend the speech itself in person. Every Supreme Scientist is regarded by members of the Consortium as a Hero and a paragon of Humanity, wisdom, strength, power, intellect and culture, and viewed with exaltation. To an outsider, this might look like a personality cult, but be assured, this reverence is naturally earned and not of the Supreme Scientists design.

A relatively recent custom is that all Supreme Scientists must construct their own suit of technologically advanced armour, made with the most advanced technology available, and often upgraded by the Supreme Scientist who wears it as time goes on, as they discover new scientific principles and improve existing technologies or invent new ones. The current Supreme Scientist has never been seen without his armour except by Connoisseur, which appears deceptively sinister to outsiders.

The Supreme Scientist is intended to parallel Princess Celestia in Friendship in Magic, being a mentor and guiding hand for their universes version of Twilight, right down to cultivating their academic knowledge in school, sending them away to learn about Friendship, Morality and Empathy in the outside world, to help others and do good, and, eventually, replace them.

PERSONALITY
The Supreme Scientist is incredibly wise, patient and charismatic, speaking always with confidence. There voice may sound scary to most however, due to the commanding tone and the voice modulation caused by their helmet. They can sometimes seem distant, having been exposed to greater cosmic truths and higher concepts and ideas that would cripple all but the most herculean of minds, their mind is slowly ascending to places and ideas hard to pull ones attention from for long. Like their predecessor and Connoisseur, they have a fatherly demeanour, as they tend to encourage others to do their best, a trait placed in him by those who elevated him to his position through years of tutoring.

IN THE FAN-SERIES

Season 4
The Supreme Scientist is only mentioned towards the end of Season 4, by his second in command - Connoisseur. Viewers would be lead to believe that Connoisseur is the Leader until they reveal later in the season that there is a "Supreme Scientist" above them.

Season 5
The Supreme Scientist finally makes an appearance towards the end of Season 5. The Consortium is hunting the Rainbooms as criminals in season 5, but the capture of Twilight Sparkle(Sci-Twi) is a priority over the others, as the Supreme Scientist intends to raise Twilight as his eventual replacement, and is why she was at Crystal Prep Academy to begin with, which is run by the Consortium as a platform for educating and training potential recruits.

When Twilight is finally brought before him, Twilight is at first frightened by the menacing looking figure, in his all black armour and faceless helmet. She had expected the Leader of the seemingly oppressive organization, that has antagonized her and her Friends for the last two years, to be a Villain. Who she instead met was a wise Man who wants only the best for Mankind. Twilight pleads with the Supreme Scientist to drop charges against Her and Her Friends, arguing that they can work together, which he agrees to. More importantly however, the rivalry between the Ranbooms and the Consortium comes to a final conclusion as the two groups join forces to defeat a Villain so powerful and dire, they threaten both the Human world and Equestria.

Season 6+(Series 2)
Season 6 marks the beginning of Series 2. Two years have passed since the Series 1 finale, and most of the Rainbooms, Team Flare, and other characters, have began their first terms at Tambelon University, which will be replacing Canterlot High as the primary school setting. Canterlot High will still appear as some episodes will focus on the Cutie Mark Crusaders who are still attending Canterlot High

The Supreme Scientist occasionally appears to mentor Twilight on becoming his replacement, but most of her training is handled by Connoisseur until she has gotten used to the Technological Consortium and it's operation. He also teaches Twilight about the history of the Consortium and past Leaders, including the first Supreme Scientist - Starswirl the Bearded, who he has heard she admires.

Episodes I had planned for the two would revolve around him teaching Twilight Sparkle about the Consortium's history, her future duties, the technology of the Consortium and revealing to her, bit by bit, the infinite scope and complexity of reality, including space, time and dimension. One episode would involve him taking her on an introductory expedition to places beyond the Earth, starting with a trip to the moon, then mars, then other more extreme planets, with Twilight protected via a special environmental suit made just for her. Later lessons include expeditions to other dimensions and even through time.

When asked why they don't share this amazing technology with the rest of the Human-race, it is explained in detail, with visual aids, that the introduction of such technologies takes time, and that society needs to be slowly prepared to receive it in a believable and sustainable way, as to instantly transform a society with such technologies could be harmful to economies and ways of life, and if not handled with care and guidance, can be misused.

THE TECHNOLOGICAL CONSORTIUM
The primary recurring antagonists of Series 1, turned Allies in series 2, with a strong presence in every season. The Technological Consortium, or just "The Consortium" for short, is a secret global organization which runs most of what goes on in the world from behind the scenes. They investigate, hunt, and police the mystical and supernatural elements of the world, but they also deal with other threats like Rogue Scientists, AI's, Super Villains, Aliens, dangerous technology and other dangerous elements and natural or unnatural, disasters. Think of the Consortium as a combination of The Men in Black, the SCP Foundation and the Technocratic Union from Mage: The Ascension. Members are often referred to as "Techs" by outsiders, such as the Rainbooms.

In my series, the Consortium will frequently be at odds with the Rainbooms and Equestria, who they see as rogue elements and potential threats. The Consortium has been watching the Rainbooms for quite some time, and have been assisting them from behind the scenes in hopes that the Equestrian problem will resolve itself, while taking steps to perform damage control or commit resources to backup plans should the Rainbooms fail. For example, they were prepared to step in during the initial Sunset Shimmer and Midnight Sparkle incidents before those things resolved themselves. Sometimes their assistance was absolutely necessary, such as during the Sirens incident, where they sent one of their young operatives, Vinyl Scratch, to free the Rainbooms and provide them with aid against The Dazzlings. Did you think Vinyl Scratch just so happened to show up with a giant transforming sound-stage equipped car...?
