I love all of your stamps <33

Ugly people don't like to be judged, same with homos.

True, but there's a huge difference between judging and just being plain rude.

Ever heard of prejudice? Many people get that a lot.

ExplosiveSquid In reply to messeduprobot [2016-02-10 00:45:15 +0000 UTC]

Yes, and yes. People indeed have the freedom to be prejudiced, for better or for worse.

That's not a freedom if another exacts it onto one.

I said "freedom to be prejudiced", not freedom in general. No country is perfectly "free", and no country ever will be.

True, but perfection is not what must be chased.

Okay, but that has nothing to do with this stamp, so I'm not quite sure where you're trying to get with this.

To an extent. If it comes to discrimination then I disagree with your right to say it or to entitle to that opinion.

I judge people for the way they treat other people

So, the freedom of thought allows you to have judging thoughts towards others?Β Well, yes, but objective validity and possible hypocrisy of such thoughts are another topic. I mean, if someone is not in a position to judge others the way they're judging, it's just pointless. Granted, but pointless.

ExplosiveSquid In reply to TheAntsaBoy94 [2015-05-15 06:53:28 +0000 UTC]

The great part is that whatever hypocritical thoughts one might have, they're perfectly able to have them. Judging is never necessarily pointless, as any type of judgement has real basis relevant to the one making the judgments (though the application of such judgments to lives of those outside of that of the individual making them is another matter).

Today I decided to reply to some old comments, starting with this.

Any action has real basis relevant to the one committing the action. Some actions are considered illegal and majority of the rest is otherwise immoral. I think we need a real basis all right, but not of an individual.

But pointless or not, what if a hypocritical judgement was ineffective? Can you really blame a person for ignoring a moral rant from someone who does just as bad - if not even worse - than they themselves does? If you can't, then why should they put up with rant in the first place? If you can, then by what basis should they be convinced this other person knows any better than they themselves already does?

Why must suicide be brought into everything?

fuckades In reply to Z7-Tetra26 [2015-08-08 02:39:49 +0000 UTC]

Make somebody kill themselves? Unles this is some weird forced suicide where you force another to drink hemlock or another poison, there is no making somebody kill themself. They are held accountable for their own damn thoughts; and if somebody is seriously going to take another's advice of killing themself - good riddance.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

ExplosiveSquid In reply to Z7-Tetra26 [2014-11-15 03:07:04 +0000 UTC]

You're not held legally responsible for a suicide unless you explicitly tell them to do it.

Otherwise, if they kill themselves because other people are judging them, whatever. Good riddance.

Unless your judgement incites harm on another, then that is going against Freedom Of Speech, is counted as bullying, and is in fact illegal.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ExplosiveSquid In reply to decapitated-friitz [2014-06-24 03:07:09 +0000 UTC]

Not in all cases, actually. Only if it specifically incites an immediate, orΒ imminentΒ intent toΒ commit anΒ act of violence. Advocating violence isn't actually illegal in itself, which is why the KKK is legally permitted to exist. As well, hate speech is permitted under certain circumstances, as the Westboro Baptist Church is allowed to protest as they please as long as they're not violent about it.
