Okay, I'm going back now to continue Maladyne's story arc in Web of Betrayal.

Paging through the mystic tome, Maladyne finds the section she sought and reads aloud. “I will craft that which she shall be, and it will be more than she was, and yet I now know it will be far less. The pure resolve of the Lady, the hunger of the Demon, the sorrow of the Weeper, the mystery of the Stalker, the life-giving care of the Allmother--these things only live when they are in contest for the span of a life, and that span must have an end. And therefore, so will she. When my beloved returns, this work shall give her the fullest measure of all, that she can see clearly if the final page is to be written. Let her view the souls of the people for whom she would find place in the Hereother. In that day, those souls shall be bared, their wants and fears, their cares and sorrows uncovered, and the choice will be hers as long as her resolve is true. But after a span that choice will pass from her, as she has passed from me, as I will soon pass.”

Another few pages into the text, Maladyne finds a host of inscribed sorcerous sigils and she immediately feels the compulsion to engage their function. “The choice will be mine,” she paraphrases aloud, “though it will pass from me. So, while it is mine, I will do as you say, Beloved. I will view the souls of the people for whom I would find place in the Hereother. And before the choice passes from me, I will know if it should be made.”

I hope people are weathering the current situation well, and that those who are suffering can get the help they need. Again, I'd like to encourage everyone to be a bit more understanding and tolerant than ever, and I mean myself as well, in viewpoints and communications.
