Okay, I'm going back now to continue Maladyne's story arc in Web of Betrayal.

The first spider misses, as Maladyne steps out of its way, but this puts her in the path of two others. The things land on her back, their shadowy limbs clutching like the bite of an early frost. The touch of fear shivers through her.

“Of course, you know all of this, don’t you, Milady?” Avora’s voice continues. “All the members of your family have benefitted from years of tutelage at the Well of Wisdom, just as I have.” The dark woman pauses as the spider figments’ grasp grows tighter. “Ah, so they do find purchase on you--disturbing ideas can be quite tenacious, wouldn’t you agree?”

“That's why they should be shared with care!” Maladyne gasps, flailing her arms to ward off three more black, spindly shapes that launch toward her face.

“Well spoken, Milady,” Avora says as the jumping spiderlings are batted aside. “But the mere suggestion of censorship evokes a line too fine to walk without embracing deception. And deception has a way of exploding in your face...”

Yes, I forgot the slit in Maladyne's robe on the previous page and on this one. I'll go in and fix them both and upload the new ones in a "facing-pages" arrangement after I've been posting regularly again for a while.

I hope people are weathering the current situation well, and that those who are suffering can get the help they need. Again, I'd like to encourage everyone to be a bit more understanding and tolerant than ever, and I mean myself as well, in viewpoints and communications.
