Description an older painting, i only just got good images of it. this shows a small portion of my skull collection, the white on white was really fun to work with, there is so much color in this piece! the reflections and shadows are very rich. still one of my favories, it was probably my first really accomplished work from college.

i recommend fullview.

Gah, the watermark! So ugly!

LOL... I will adjust it with my own mark sooner or later, though I seem to recall you don't like that either. It was pointed out to me once how easily people can print your nice big files if you don't mark em. :-/

Well, to about postcard-sized yes. Anything bigger than that will look pretty crappy. Also, ask yourself, would those same people be the ones who would have paid for a print otherwise?

There was a company in Asia that was finding pictures on DA and using them as covers for their paperback novels. If you don't know what to look for, you can get screwed without even knowing about it. People have already taken some of my designs and gotten them as tattoos, which is usually not a big deal to me (unless it's a personalized design for someone else). A little peace of mind for me is worth the watermark in my opinion... :-/

Well sure, but would they have paid for it otherwise? Seems very unlikely to me.

Seems to me you're spoiling your art for a point of pride, which doesn't seem worth it to me. Okay that might be a little harsh, but something along those lines.

LOL... seems one way to me and another to you. I won't make you put any marks on yours pieces. eventually I'll swap out the DA mark for a more subtle one of my own. :-P

That's brilliant. Almost surreal type of still life - and the colors of the draperies are really very good.

You should paint much much more. There's nothing wrong with your drawings and digital stuff, but it seems to me that every time you submit something that makes me go "vow", it's an older work from college.

yeah, i know. i AM painting more, it's just that i have to balance it with having a 40hour-aweek-job and occassionally wanting to see people. it's been rough.

The white looks good I like the dialogue you had there but because that is so realistic it makes the metal object look more distorted than it really is. Its a nice painting.

Your use of pinks and turquoises as shading gives this piece a quite unique light. It's certainly a unique subject matter; that kind of serene daylight contrasted with something rather sinister is interesting, like an illustration for a story about the kind of eccentric teenager that you just know is going to be a serial killer when he grows up All the same, though, what a cool thing to collect! And an excellent painting indeed

There's a ton of cool stuff going on here. I wish I made still lifes this cool when I had painting classes.

heheh, i think i gave the professor conniptions. everyone else was doing abstract crap and they loved it, and here was me painting realistically....

I wonder if these people realize that you can have fancy experiments in color and form...while actually painting THINGS. Painting things doesn't make you less of an artist. It means you have skill. And an eye. You keep painting things, and show those bozos how it's done!

lol... i have long since given up on the bozos. but thank you. there are people who appreciate actual rendering ability. i know they exist.
