Description
This is the final installment of the 3 Part series on creating brushes in GIMP. Part 1 can be found here: www.deviantart.com/deviation/3β¦ and Part 2 can be found here: www.deviantart.com/deviation/3β¦ The tutorials do not explain specific types of brushes (grunge, abstract, vector, etc.), but rather focus on GIMP's 2 formats: gbr and gih.The tutorials are in htm format. Click on the Download to Desktop button, double-click the zip file, save the folder and htm file to a convenient location and double-click on the htm file to view the tutorial at your own pace.
Comments and questions are always welcome.
Enjoy! Happy GIMPing!

Hey this tutorial is great but I'm having a problem. I created a brush in RGB format and it worked fine. But when I do another and try to do it in Grayscale so it's possible to make it another color. I get this message. [link]
I was wondering if you could help? Thanks!

right, if you don't mind me saying, i think this was excellent ^^
i download way too many brushes a day, and they're all getting rather repetative, so this is great
also, i can never seem to find the exact one i want (anyone else have that problem?) so once again, thanks

Hi. I wanted to let you know that I downloaded your brush tutorials. As you probably already know I make greyscale and RGB-alpha brushes all the time, but I always read new brush tutorials, so that I can improve on my brush making. I read your tutorial and I wanted to let you know that there were some very helpful tips. The two which I will be using are how to make a pipe brush which I kind of already had an idea of how to do, but it was all speculation. The other tip which I can wait to try is the Script-fu selection tool(s). I didn't know they exsisted and hadn't had a chance to play with them at all. Thanks for providing us with some great tutorials!
Diane

Thanks for such nice comments. I think you boosted my ego a bit. It makes me feel like making more brushes.
