really? how did you do it?

fixinman In reply to Chuckbucket [2011-09-16 05:57:02 +0000 UTC]

Well I meant easy if you have the tools. You'll need a 10" table saw, a jig saw, a lathe, a dremil and a belt sander. Do you have access to these?

fixinman In reply to iPodluigi505 [2011-06-15 04:21:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it's big because I screwed up the scale calculations. My other versions are done to the right scale.

Dimension-Dino In reply to ??? [2011-06-10 10:34:53 +0000 UTC]

I ALMOST believed this was a real, metal blade. I'd actually sleep better at night knowing that someone made a real sword.

Still, this is pretty dang cool. I'd probably buy it for show since Claymore is my all-time favorite manga.

fixinman In reply to Dimension-Dino [2011-06-15 04:24:55 +0000 UTC]

Dimension-Dino In reply to ??? [2011-06-09 20:10:51 +0000 UTC]

Y'know what? I ALMOST thought that was a real sword; I would sell my soul for a REAL blade like that.

For the record, I have a real Scottish Claymore that's not even sharp and it still kicks serious tail. Cleaves watermelons and pumpkins right in two as a matter of fact.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fixinman In reply to Dimension-Dino [2011-06-15 04:27:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah the claymore is a scary sword I should make one some time as a tribute to my scottish heritage.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dimension-Dino In reply to fixinman [2011-06-15 12:38:36 +0000 UTC]

I own a real, steel claymore myself. I've taken swings with it on watermelons and pumpkins. The blade isn't even sharp, but it can still cleave them in two nice and clean.

fixinman In reply to Dimension-Dino [2011-06-16 05:41:16 +0000 UTC]

I saw one on the news that was a replica of the one owned by William Wallace (Braveheart}, it was six feet long and the reporter could hardly lift it. The real one is locked in a vault and no one touches it. It is said that he could split a man in two with it.

Dimension-Dino In reply to fixinman [2011-06-16 12:31:54 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I saw a claymore on TV: a show called "Deadliest Warrior". It did something I didn't even THINK was possible: it lopped off three heads in one swing. It'll take arms off, it'll take both legs out from underneath a person, so I wouldn't be surprised if it could cleave a person in half.

Six feet...dang. That's longer than I am tall.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fixinman In reply to Dimension-Dino [2011-06-17 06:55:28 +0000 UTC]

Well Wallace actually was over six feet tall, and huge in every way,

RainMaiden [2011-05-18 16:31:40 +0000 UTC]

Wow that is a really good sword. I've only made swords from foam. Is the wood pretty heavy?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fixinman In reply to RainMaiden [2011-05-18 17:59:51 +0000 UTC]

No it's 1/4" thick and beveled so it is really light.

Nall608 In reply to ??? [2011-04-03 08:27:56 +0000 UTC]

So this entire sword is made of wood? I thought it was real metal.

fixinman In reply to Nall608 [2011-04-03 15:05:19 +0000 UTC]

All my swords are made of wood except for the cosplay rated ones which are made of mostly insulating foam.
