This piece for some reason is kind of reminded me of dream that I have in my sleep. I don't know what kind of dream is that. I think is dream where I was alone in the dark place or mansion with no one around. I tried to call someone name and there no responses.
Anyhow, I am going to review this piece. The candle that you drew are very nicely done. I love how the candles melted and how it hardened. The flame on the candles look good, I love how the candles glowing. Man, I wish I could drew realistic candles but I could only drew the cartoony looking one. The background for this piece are very good and you choose the right color for the background to shown that this piece takes place on the dark places or maybe takes place during the power outages or something. The shading on the candles looks good. I gotta say the shading are one of my favourited part on this piece along with the flames.
My only problem about this piece is that I saw three shadows of the candles on the tables rather than two shadows.Despite the candles has two pieces. I don't know why but I think my eyes play tricks on me again.Untitled Β
Overall, you did great job on this piece. The background, the shading, the flames, and the scenery. So keep up the good work. So now, I am going to favourited this piece.

Well, first of all, I hope that you will not have scary dreams like that more often, I would be afraid even after I've woken up already!Β I mean, calling out for someone and no response.. ew..Β
I need to say, that the ony way you will find out if you can draw realistic candles is to try. And you should try! I'm too afraid to try cartoon art, for example, I kind of get it, but I made a resolution that this year I will try something.
There are actually 4 shades - the two darker ones are from the light of another candle and the two paler shadows (facing each other and actually overlapping in the middle) should be from the candle's own fire. I don't know why I drew it like that but it seemed as a good idea at a time

Very lovely!! The way you did the dried wax is very realistic - you can tell at a glance that these two candles have been used for a good while now, the multiple paths down evokes a drafty room. Plus, the difference between the liquid wax and the more solid parts is very evident, originating under the burning wicks in just the right spots!! The lighting effects are superb, very soft in the glow around the flames- which are, themselves, very well done; the shading transition from the base to the tip of the fire is done so well with realistic patterns of light throughout!!
I will note: candles are much more "solid"/dense at the base- the translucency needs to be taken down more around the point the dripped wax ends. I've found in my candles (having a bunch of tapers myself that I light around the holidays) that it's barely glowing for about an inch at the base, and only REALLY gets less opaque when the candle is halfway burned through... The candle on the right is just about to that point from the look of things, whereas the one on the left still has a ways to go.
Overall a fantastic piece!!Β Β
