Description
I tried to upload both of these tutorials TOGETHER but the file was too big for dA, so I cut it in half.Anyway, welcome to another tutorial! This is Part A of this set - Part B will be up shortly! This tutorial covers three different shading methods I regularly use on Paint Tool SAI. This one here covers cell-shading.
You can find Part B here: [link]

May I ask what that green thing in Sai does? It's highlighted green on your lineart layer. I've been trying to find out forever.

Haha yeah. The character there is actually a cobbler-in-training herself, so I thought it would be fun.

That's really cute! Good to see a tip of the hat to Tac, such a cutie.

Actually, human eyes are more sensitive to the colour blue, so you'd be right on most shadows "appearing" blue.

Nice tutorial! I just thought I would add too the "color of the shade" part.
The color your shade has actually depends on what color your light-source has. For example, the light outside (during daytime) tend to have a yellow tone, therefore the shadow turns its opposite color (blue). If your light-source is red the shadow would turn green, and so on...
Hope that helped!
